⭐⭐ Herbal Park, Sector 26, Panchkula – Review
I recently visited Herbal Park in Sector 26, Panchkula, hoping for a refreshing and informative experience 🌿🌱. The name itself gave me an impression that it would be a well-maintained green space with a wide variety of medicinal and herbal plants, along with peaceful surroundings where one could spend a relaxing morning or evening. Unfortunately, my overall experience fell quite short of expectations, which is why I can only rate it 2 stars ⭐⭐.
The idea behind the park is genuinely good 👍. A dedicated space for medicinal and herbal plants can be educational for students, nature lovers, and even senior citizens who are interested in Ayurveda and traditional healing. There are indeed some useful plants like tulsi 🌿, neem 🌳, aloe vera 🌵, and others scattered across the grounds. If properly maintained, this place could serve as a living classroom about India’s rich herbal heritage.
The park is located near the Ghaggar river, which could have been an additional charm 🌊. The natural setting around it should ideally give it a soothing and refreshing vibe. Sadly, the condition inside does not match the beautiful surroundings.
The maintenance of the park is very poor 😞. Many plants do not have proper nameplates, and even when nameplates exist, they are either faded or broken, making it hard to identify them. The walking tracks are uneven and not very clean, with dry leaves and plastic waste here and there 🗑️. Inside the park, there is a lot of garbage lying around 🚮, which spoils the entire atmosphere.
Another big disappointment is the toilets. The washrooms are either locked or in terrible condition 🚫🚻. They are dirty, smelly, and practically unusable, which makes the place very inconvenient for families and visitors who come here for longer walks or picnics.
In terms of atmosphere, yes, the park has some greenery 🌳, and if you go early morning, you might enjoy a bit of fresh air 🌤️. A few senior citizens can be seen walking or sitting, and occasionally, groups of students come for botanical study visits. But overall, the vibe is dull, with little effort made to keep the place lively or welcoming.
I strongly feel that with better management, regular upkeep, and proper signage, Herbal Park could become a gem in Panchkula 🌟. Right now, it feels like a wasted opportunity. Instead of being a showcase of herbal knowledge and a peaceful retreat, it comes across as just another poorly managed public park, even though it sits in such a nice location near the river.
So, to sum it up: Good concept, but very poor execution ❌. If you are nearby and just want a short walk, you may drop in, but do not expect much. Definitely not worth making a special trip.
