I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sagar Ratna, and it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. We (Verma family) went there on 27th October, 2024 (Sunday). On the basis of Sagar Ratna's name and fame and its newly opened branch near us, thought to be a best South Indian tastes of food items. We ordered for two masala dosa. There was no South Indian natural spices taste in masala, chutneys and Sambhar. Filled masala was like Gharelu Parantha's filling. Coconut chutney was tasted like dried coconut paste and even green chutney was flavoured like packed souce. Sambhar was also in very cheap taste, having no South Indian taste a bit of. It was like boiled vegetables dipped in Knor soup. Quantity was also not much better as expected by Sagar Ratna's popularities. Rates are not resembling with dishes' quantity and quantity. I went there with family after seeing reviews of authentic South Indian food but highly disappointed. None of the item ordered has any relationship to authenticity, taste is so bland and bad. Sambar without any taste, no lentils - looks like MTR sambar masala dissolved in warm water. Dosa and utapam not even remotely resembles to what they should be - both in taste and appearance.
