The ambience of the temple, in presence of all the deities are in itself a divine experience and really peaceful for the mind. Some weeks ago, when me and my sibling who is a trans-man (we were very decently fully clothed in traditional attire) were praying peacefully in the temple, he tried to make us feel embarrassed and humiliated by shouting at us in front of all the devotees and yelling at us "Do your prayers fast and move out of the temple.
