Betul is a coastal town located in South Goa District, Goa, India. It is one hour distance from Margao. It is known for its beach. The Sal River drains into the Arabian sea near Betul. The place is also home to the Betul Fort . Betul Fort was built during the regime of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj and was a part of Swarajya (Maratha Administration and Control).

One needs to hike from the Holy Cross Chapel in order to reach here. The lighthouse closes around 6:30 pm, so make sure you reach before that. If lighthouse intrest you then this a place to be, spectacular view from the top of the lighthouse, entry per person 20. It is beautiful view visible from the general area of the lighthouse (the lighthouse itself is closed due to covid). One can drivie up to the Church below the light house (on the same hill) and park their car and walk the 10mins to the Lighthouse. The route does allow for bikes to proceed all the way up, though it is extremely rocky and kinda risky. The view visible is breathtaking, from the vantage point you can see the mouth of the river sal beneath you, as it opens into the Arabian sea. To your north, at approx 17km ariel distance the city of Margao is also visible, aswell as the Beautiful continuous coastline from the Mobor Beach peninsular all the way to the rocks ahead of Cansaulim beach. Though the entry hour to lighthouse is I guess only at 4 to 5 pm costing around 20 to 30 Rs. But even the trek reaching there is way is enthrailling.
Road access is limited beyond Holy Chapel. Which implies it's better to park your car around Holy Chapel and climb up. Though 4x4 cars can be taken to the top but I didn't see any going, so at your own risk 🤭...
Path through the lighthouse can be bushy, muddy and slippery during rainy season at times. And do take care walking on the rocks (unfortunately there might be some shatttered bottels fallen) and I recommend wear shoes.
