Galgibag beach ⛱️ is a very peaceful, and beautiful beach, I was surprised to see such a clan beach in Goa , so for the people who are visiting here let's keep it this way Galgibaga Beach also called Galgibagh Beach is a beach in south Goa. It is one of the lesser-known and cleanest beaches of India. It located in the south of Goa in Canacona region, 7 km from famous Palolem Beach. Galgibaga beach is reported to be a nesting ground for Olive Ridley turtles. The quiet Galgibaga beach is South Goa is perhaps one of few hidden treasures that Goa has left. The beach is known as one of the three places in Goa that form the nesting grounds of the Olive Ridley turtles, a protected species. The northern portion of this beach is protected as the turtles nesting grounds and gives the beach its nickname, Turtle beach. This beach is located in the deep south of Goa, on the banks of the Galgibag river. It is about 56km away from Colva, which is a popular beach resort in South Goa and 54km away from Margao, the cultural capital of Goa.As with most other beaches in Goa, the best time to visit is in the winter months from October to March, when the weather is pleasant and the seas are not so rough. In the summer, despite the heat the beaches are still a great place to be. During the monsoon month the beaches are less frequented because the seas are rough with dangerous undercurrents and...

BE VERY CAREFUL while travelling to this beach. This is not a popular tourist destination and hence IS NOT SAFE AT ALL. We got into a very unpleasant situation due to a small parking mistake. A local goon with long hair on a bike very rudely asked us to take our car to a different location. We admitted our mistake and politely went forward to do the same. However, the goon was in a mood to entertain himself. He kept following us and tried to pick a fight. He physically threatened us and even poked my fellow traveller friend even though none of us did anything. Even as we were walking away he kept encircling us with his bike and shouting expletives and profanities. In the end we decided it would be safest for us to take our car and leave the place for good. We felt really helpless as we did not know anyone. The goon probably knew locals who he could have easily summoned and hurt us. The road was empty with no police or cctvs in sight. The goon could have injured us and nobody would even come to know. SO PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL if you visit this place. TRY TO AVOID IT. Visit North Goa and other places in the South but...

This beach can be viewed from the NH66 itself on the way to Goa from Karwar side. This was in our bucket list for long time. Even though we have been to south Goa innumerable times, somehow never been to this one. This is a bliss on one word. One of the best sunsets you can see. Extremely easy to access from the highway. If you are taking your car on weekend you may not find a parking in the designated parking space near to the beach but don’t worry you can park under the bridge (the highway). Then it’s just about 4-5 minutes of walk to the beach. There are multiple boards present explaining about the Turtles and their lifecycle. Be responsible and don’t litter. Enjoy the view and clam essence of this beach. There are some restaurants being built it seems but I am not sure. I saw some structures being built on the banks. Food options are not present at this point but on the service road towards Goa you will find couple of tea shops which can serve omelette bread samosa etc. There is some Cave near this beach but we didn’t have time to explore that. Probably next time.
