Shree Saunsthan Goudpadacharya Kavale Math — Attraction in Goa

One of the oldest sanatana dharma hindu mutt. Actually believed to be originated by Shri Gaudapadacharya who is guru of guru of Shri Shankaracharya. This mutt is located in Kavale (Kavalem) in Ponda of (south) Goa. This area has temples like Shanthadurga temple, Ramnathi temple, Shri Lakshmi Ravalanath temple, Devaki Krishna temple. These temples are believed to be KULA-DAIVA for most of the saraswat konkani Brahmins (GSBs, RSBs, chollekar, chtitrapur saraswat etc), even for some Marathi community people. Lakshmi ravalanath and Devaki Krishna temple are located in a place Marcel which is about 15-20 kms from Kavale. This mutt has decent guest house facilities for devotees visiting the place. The math is a beautiful and serene place and has a very calm environment surrounding it. The Bhavani Shankar and Vitthala Temples are really nice and well-maintained. A lot of them in the review section claim that this math belongs to the GSB community only. This information is incorrect as devotees from the RSB (Rajapura Saraswat Brahmins) and other Saraswat communities visit this math.

The rooms in the temple stay, "Bhakt Nivas" are not well maintained. The lobby, corridors and staircase are filled with cement and other construction materials(as of 30 October, 2023). The bedsheets and the rooms are not cleaned regularly. The room floors are very dirty and basic necessities are not provided here.

His Holiness Adi Guru Gaudapadacharya is the " First " Guru of Advait tradition. He is the Param guru of Adi guru Shankar. After Daiv Parampara starting from Narayana , then Rishi parampara starting from Vashistha H.H. Guru Gaudapa dacharya is the first guru (Adi ) in manav parampara which started in Kaliyuga.
