Malav Talav at Dholka. One of the main point of attraction and historical importance dating to 10th century. In brief find of many find these two built points eye catching: 1) An proverb says in Gujarati says тАШ See Malav Talav if you want to know way justice is deliveredтАЩ. Check Google for entire story. 2) Our ancestors genius craftsmanship that even to this day and withstanding centuries of abuse, the status quo remains. The point is in centre of lake an temple like structure is built that is connected by a pathway to access from outer rim. Construction is such then water level never exceeds this pathway! This lake has similarities to Munsar lake at Viramgam. Though most of the small deries alias small temples around lake periphery have been vandalised only a few idols, broken statues, historical old dialects writings and small pieces of fine carvings are found in its vicinity. ASI presence has so far preserved of what is lost and struggling to keep it in one piece. Strong local support and administration assistance is needed. Take a walk around the lake trying to see the left remnants and enjoy the pathway walk to centre of this lake. ItтАЩs amazing. Just some 35 kms from ahmedabad make it a point to visit Dholka being rightly known as Viratpur or Viratnagar in Pandavas exile wanderings. Google and our people folk tales facts are more captivating and elaborate. Photos do the talking. Enjoy.

Historical lake made by Minal Devi. But like other places...this is also neglected and deserted. No maintenance.

Present condition is very bad.. No any maintenance by government.. No value of your ancient history.. No cleanness..

Past history.

The chief object of interest near Dholka is the Malav lake, built about the close of the eleventh century by Minaldevi, widow of Karna and mother of Jayasimha Siddharaja (or perhaps by Lavanprasad's wife Maybhalla, according to research done by R. T. Savliya, author of Ancient lakes of Gujarat).[citation needed] It is about 400 yards in diameter, surrounded by a finely carved stone wall and flights of stone steps. In the middle of the lake are the remains of a building, connected with the shore by a light and graceful wooden bridge, supported on sculpted stone piers. The platform and roadway are mostly gone, but the piers remain...
