Pushpak Ropeway — Attraction in Gujarat

The construction of ropeway started in 1987.

The ropeway starts from Sunset point and takes to the Sunrise point and Governor's hill. It is suspended above a lake. It offers view of the town and valley If someone asked me what was that one thing in Saputara that they should not miss, I would immediately reply, “Saputara Ropeway”! Apart from taking a day trip to the gorgeous waterfalls of Gira Dodh, of course.

There are so many amazing things to do in Saputara. Riding the Saputara Ropeway or Pushpak Ropeway is definitely one of them. In fact, it was a highlight of my 3-day Saputara itinerary.

Located right next to the sunset point, the cable car in Saputara makes for an interesting place to get a bird’s eye view of Gujarat’s only hill station. Take a ride right after monsoons and you will definitely fall in love with the verdant view of the Sahyadris from here.

Officially known as Pushpak Ropeway, Saputara’s cable car ride is the hill station’s most iconic attraction. It was built in the late 1900s and has since been entertaining tourists with an adventurous ride over the Sahyadris.

The ride takes you from the Sunset Point in Saputara to the Sunrise Point. It is a short ride of 5-6 minutes each way and gives you stunning views of the Saputara Lake on one side and winding Sahyadri roads on the other.

The ride is especially rewarding right after monsoons when the hills are verdant and green, there is a low mist in the air, and the fragrance of wildflowers spreads through the hills. Riding the ropeway and having a bowl of hot Maggi or a cup of Chai at the end of it is pure bliss.

I recently had an incredible ropeway experience that was absolutely amazing! It only cost 77rs per person, we were 3 people and we got a separate cabin for us. we were treated to a breathtaking 25-minute ride that left us completely amazed. The panoramic views were truly enchanting, and the sensation of flying above the landscape was invigorating. Must try experience as everyone else must have told you. Tips: go in the morning is sunset isn't important for you. We were last in line for sunset and decided to back out enjoy instead enjoy sunset from table top. Waiting time was atleast an hour..

Go back there next day early morning. No rush within 15 minutes got in. Spent some time at sunset point came back no rush again. Then wee were shocked to see the queue of cars lined up around 10.30 AM. And you might get to sit in pairs rather than in a group.

The experience is totally worth it. Very smooth. No jerks in the entire route. Moves at a decent speed so you get to enjoy the view which is ofcourse amazing 🤩
