Wanted to give 5 stars, but reducing it to 2 stars due to a recent experience.
Swaminarayan trust is famous all over the world for their services & they have a good reputation. But last Thursday we had besna of one of our family member and we were 15 people for lunch. We all visited the swaminarayan museum for lunch as they had agreed that no booking is needed for 15-20 ppl. As soon as we all reached there they denied lunch to all of us just because we all werw in white clothes and we wanted to do lunch after besna of our family member.
Such a huge institution and they follow such practice ! Are the people who attend besna to be treated as untouchable? What kind of service is this? That you cannot have lunch in swaminarayan if you have attended besna you cant have lunch ? It's not written anywhere and don't any of the family members of the institution of swaminarayan museum die? Do they also go elsewhere for food? Or this rule is for normal public only?
The respect that was there for the swaminarayan museum deteriorated after this as god has not told that of u attend besna than you are untouchable.
They also dont provide bill for any snacks/tiffin that you take from the outlet over there. So do they run this business only for their own profit?
How can you deny lunch to the persons who have came there. All belong to good and respected family and just because you are a big institution doesnt mean that you are boss.
Its clearly visible now that you are only interested in money as the one who is there to serve people doesnt deny like this. And we were paying for lunch and not asking for free. The insulting way you denied lunch to a group just because we had attended a besna is totally improper. Nothing lasts forever, you will not be able to run this institution successfully like this. Also you dont provide bill for all the snacks in outlet and in museum so its clear that you are here to earn money and not to...
Read moreVisited this beautiful and peaceful place last Sunday with my mother and honestly I didn’t expect to feel this kind of inner peace just by walking through a museum. But this is no ordinary museum. This place is full of bhakti and calmness.
The moment we stepped inside there was a strange sense of stillness in the air. You could actually feel that this is a pious space filled with the divine presence of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. The way the relics are displayed and preserved is something you don’t see often. Murti darshan was so peaceful and the audio visual rooms really touched something inside me. Felt like Bhagwan is still around silently blessing everyone.
One thing that stood out was the behaviour of the staff and volunteers. So polite and humble. They guide you with respect and there is no crowd pushing or touristy vibe. It truly feels like a religious place meant for the soul.
After darshan we went to the canteen and had lunch. Nothing fancy just a simple satvik meal with daal roti sabzi and rice. But it felt like prasad. That peaceful vibe continued even while eating. My mother even said this place gives a different kind of shanti which is hard to describe.
We sat outside in the garden area for some time. Birds chirping gentle breeze and no noise. I don’t know if it was the atmosphere or my own state of mind but for the first time in a long while I felt mentally light and peaceful. Almost like Bhagwan was listening quietly.
If you are looking for a religious and spiritual place that is not crowded and gives you peace of mind please visit this museum at least once. I left the place feeling blessed and calm. Will definitely come...
Read moreIts very beautiful, pleasant and extraordinary calming experience, at first visit. Being believers of Swaminarayan Kalupur one family function arranged keeping in mind of serenity, easy to access for elderly, parking space, simple healthy food, and most importantly under roof of Bhgvan Swaminarayan. An experienced being worsen when the function day, parking person has started argument on parking car at told place (in completely vacant parking), well its been followed but driver door was unable to open. its been demonstrated to him "driver door has no place to open" there is a tree near but he has no patinece to listen. He was so elderly it was unfair arguing with him. At his age i can understand his mental state working at parking area. Well we have kept huge patience to make him understand, he spolied mood and was wishing he should not behave same with our guests, but he argued with most of my guests. Its utterly disappointing, its enough reason, to spoil occasion, I will avoid venue for this only reason since its carrying first impression very pathetic and negativity was all around. well Important point, DRAWING OF PARKING LINES ARE NOT PRACTICAL, THERE IS NO ENOUGH SPACE FOR ONE CAR PARKING IN SOME AREA. Needs to be revised, hence argument and negativity can be avoided at such pious and divine premise. Prasadam (food) was excellent Chef Shree Durgaprasadji is highly recommended and appreciated. He is very good host, polite chef and very respectable person. Must try his btatawada, gulab jamun...
