The Statue of Unity is the world’s tallest statue with a whopping height of 182 metres. Behold an architectural marvel that is more than just a statue, nestling exhibition hall, viewing gallery and even a large lift inside it. Surrounded by mountains, rivers and dam, the Statue of Unity is one of the finest places to visit not only in Gujarat, but also India. It was a very pleasant experience with my family that included senior citizens and kids too. We travelled from Ahmedabad to Ekta Nagar via morning train and reached there around 11 am. We visited this place on Saturday in mid March wherein the temperature was also normal and the climate was too nice. We didn’t feel much of a crowd because the campus is very large and also this is the time of the annual exam/board exam of students. We booked the tickets online and the app was too easy to use with clear instructions. The campus area and all the facility area were very clean and well maintained. There is free bus service available to visit all the points included in the ticket, to visit other paid locations you can walk if the weather is pleasant or you can also travel in pink-auto. Pink-autos are dedicatedly driven by ladies and the rate card is available on site/ app. They allow ladies purse and water bottle to carry with us but they don’t allow any bags, outside food, trolleys inside the statue of unity main campus. However not to worry as there is a big food court in that campus where you can, eat, drink and relax too. A day trip is sufficient if you plan to visit only the Statue. But there are other sites to explore in the Statue of Unity, including a museum, Sound and Light show, Valley of Flowers, and Sardar Sarovar Dam. Visiting and understanding all these sites' history and heritage would need at least 2 to 3 days. Top Places to Visit Near the Statue of Unity Jungle Safari Park. Maze Garden. Miyawaki Forest. Sardar Sarovar Dam. Poicha. Valley of Flowers. Dediapada. Zarwani Waterfalls. If you are there to visit Statue of Unity, then you should not miss Sardar Sarovar Dam, hardly 3.1km from Statue of Unity. With the height of 163m, it is world's second biggest gravity dam. Remember it remains close on Every Monday. About the Place: The Statue of Unity is the world's tallest statue, with a height of 182 metres (597 feet), located near Kevadia in the state of Gujarat.
