Barsi Gate in Hansi is an impressive 13th-century Sultanate-era monument, notable for its historical significance, architectural style, and the fact that it is the sole surviving entrance to the old city's wall. While admired for its imposing structure and historical context, some reviews mention issues with maintenance and potential traffic congestion. Pros of Barsi Gate Historical Significance: It is the only surviving gate of the ancient walled city of Hansi and was built by Sultan Alauddin Khilji in 1303 AD. Architectural Beauty: The gate is a significant example of Sultanate architecture, a tall, pointed arch structure that has been repaired over time, most notably in 1522 AD by Ibrahim Lodhi. Convenient Location: Situated in the heart of the bustling Hansi market, it is easily accessible to visitors. Cons and Areas for Improvement Lack of Maintenance: Some reviewers note that the site has not been adequately maintained over the years. Traffic Congestion: Heavy traffic in the surrounding market area can make access to and around the gate challenging. Key Information Construction: Built by Sultan Alauddin Khilji in 1303 AD. Height: Stands approximately 30 meters tall. Significance: It is the only surviving of the city's five ancient gates. Current Status: The gate is under the protection of the Government of India.
