In the very first verse of Bhagwad-Gita (धर्मक्षेत्रे कुरुक्षेत्रे समवेता युयुत्सवः | मामकाः पाण्डवाश्चैव किम् अकुर्वत संजय ||), Kurukshetra is described as DHARAMKSHETRA i.e. 'Region of righteousness'. Kurukshetra is a place of great historical and religious importance, revered all over the country for its sacred association with the Vedas and the Vedic Culture. It was here that the battle of Mahabharat was fought and Lord Krishna preached His Philosophy of 'KARMA' as enshrined in the Holy Bhagwad-Gita, to Arjuna at Jyotisar. According to Hindu mythology, Kurukshetra is spread over, a circuit of about 48 KOS, which includes a large number of holy places, temples and sacred tanks connected with the religious events/rituals, Mahabharat War and Kurus, the ancestor of Kauravas and Pandavs. Kurukshetra is intimately related to the Aryan civilization and its growth all along the sacred river Saraswati.

The write up given above is factual however the pics have been mixed that of Bhram Sarovar. Bhishm Kund has two ancient temples also one temple is having the statues of all the major characters of Mahabharat while the other temple house Laxmi-Narayan. There is a statue of Hanuman ji also in this laxmi narayan temple which used to have the eyes of Gold which has been stolen. Now the said mandir committee has estabilshed normal eyes in those Hanuman eye cavity. Bhishm Kund is about 100m inside the main road n may get missed, but its jus 50m ahead of Ban Ganga Temple. The actual pics of Bhishm Kund are attached along.

Bhishma Kund is a sacred site in Kurukshetra, Haryana, commemorating the Mahabharata legend where Arjuna shot an arrow into the ground to bring forth a spring of water for the dying Bhishma Pitamah as he lay on his bed of arrows. The "kund" (tank) is believed to be that spring, known as the Banganga or Ban Ganga, where Bhishma, the patriarch of the Kuru clan, passed away after the war. The site also includes temples and a statue, and while it's a significant religious and historical location, some visitors note that it is not consistently well-maintained.
