Kalka is a small town in Haryana on the border of Himachal Pradesh. This town is very special and mythological. There is a famous Kali Mata temple here. Later, it was shifted to Shimla and then to Ambala district.
The major area of āāthe city was developed by the erstwhile Rajput clan, who were called Chaudhary or Pundhir. It was snatched away by the British from the rulers of Patiala in the 1800s for rail development. This helped in the rapid economic development of the region. In 1903, it was opened as the Kalka-Shimla Railway. Today, it is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sitesāā
