Chhoie waterfall in Sharchi is beautiful. It’s almost between jibhi and Tirthan valley. We were staying in Tirthan valley nd took a cab to reach the place where you start the trek to the waterfall. The trek is almost 3km one way and takes 45 min to an hour uphill, narrow at places, seems a lil dangerous and ideally u should accompany with a guide if you are not habitual of treks. I and my friend did it for the 1st time and did face some difficulty but managed with the help of groups ahead and behind us. The place is beautiful. Greenery all around. Not too habitated or visited. Hence serene and calm. You can enjoy the place and the calmness around you. If you in Tirthan ought to visit. Carry water with you. There are small tuck shops at the start of the trek for tea, Maggi, momos should you want to enjoy. The trek of 3 km one way walk that begins from Village Nagini which takes about 1 hour. The waterfall is named after local deity Chhoi Mata and locals come to worship the goddess at one of the trees before the waterfall.

Chhoie waterfalls is a great experience. From the Tirthan road, one will pass through a small, quaint village, walk up a light slope through wilderness, some difficult but short stretches of stones, a medium difficulty ascent for about 800 metres, then the last part of about 200 metres brings one to the beautiful 100 metres plus waterfall. The total distance of 1 km, from road to the waterfalls takes 60 to 75 minutes for an able bodied person and about 45 minutes to return. Ensure that you have at least 2 hours before darkness falls. Do not attempt during rains unless you are a well experienced trekker. There is a small tea stall at the waterfalls, which is a great relief after the tough walk. If you stay at Sharda Resort, RR Resort, ShivAdya Resort etc, the start of climb is just 200 metres away.

It involves a little bit of trek, nothing a youth cannot handle. The trek may be difficult for older people, as it involves stepping up or down on big Rocky steps. If it's rainy, or rained a few hours back, it is recommended to postpone the trek as it will be slippery on some parts of the route. If you are accompanied by children, take high precaution as at some locations there is no side grills/ barricades and steep sides most of the way. Take some water bottles and light snacks, and take care not to litter. Do not bathe in the waterfall as it's scared and has religious importance. Also it provides water to villages downhill so maintain cleanliness. The place is highly soothing, and mesmerizing. It's worth the trek. Highly recommended.

Chhoie is a fantastic tourist destination in the heart of Tirthan valley. Time - Waterfall is accessible via a short hike of about 40 minutes (casual strolling speed). Hike starts with proper stairs rising steeply and then flattens out into village tracks.

Trek path - The track is narrow but mostly easy apart from a couple of points where you may need a little support. Trek goes through untouched landscapes culminating at the beautiful waterfall which carries decent volumes during summer season. Eateries - There are a few kiosks near the waterfall to rest and grab quick snacks. Age groups - This is doable through all major age groups, there are guides too to carry bags or small kids for the route. Crowd density - During weekdays, there is minimal crowd while during weekends there may be some crowd. Starting point - Trek’s starting point is about a km from boho grove cafe &...
