Hatu Mata Kali Temple situated at hatu peak at hill top seven Kilometres from famous tourist place narkanda in Shimla District in Himachal Pradesh offers excellent scenic beauty where avarage temprature is around 10 degrees in peak summer season in May and June while it also experience sub zero in May and June if area experience rain or snowfall. This temple was set up by Pandvas during excile period and the original PINDI in the temple was installed by Pandvas themselves .This PINDI is still in the temple. This temple is connected by narrow broken road from Narkanda and you can reach there in half an hour by taxi . However it is not advised to move on foot due to dense forest and extreme weather conditions. The Temple remain open daily from 8am to 6 pm without any break. This temple is closed from October to April due to heavy snowfall and is inaccessible to outside world as road is covered with dense snow which blocks vehicular traffic This temple is opened in Chaitra Navratri in April with religious ceremonies and puja which is attended by local population living in nearby villages. You can view magnificent snow peak of Kinnaur,Chamba and Shimla from here. You can also have darshan of Manimahesh peak Chamba,Kinner Kailash and Shrikhand Peaks which are holy peaks and are visited by thousands devotees every year. A fair is organised every year on each Sunday in June Month as it is said that King of Kuamarsain princely state first offered puja in this temple. Late Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh took keen interest in connecting this temple with road network and providing water supply and electricity at this remote location. Mr Virbhadra Singh the tallest leader of Himachal Pradesh was a strong devotee of Bhima Kali Goddess and it is said that Goddess Bhima Kali gave him darshan and asked to do sewa at hatu kali temple as both are said to be sisters. You can see the Chullas here where Pandvas used to cook food. This kali Goddess is said to be guardian diety of local area This temple is managed by Management committee appointed by Ten Panchayat of around 40 village of the area . If you are visiting this holy shrine then You must keep in mind the tough geographical condition and inhospitable weather conditions in the area You should opt for local taxi if you don't have experience in driving in steep hills. Please don't take SUV /heavy or luxury vehicles as single road is very narrow The most important is that always take heavy woolen like jackets if you are visiting this shrine as weather can take extreme conditions any time . It is important to offer prasad . Jatta Nariyal ,Dry fruits , fruit are offered here Please note that there is no Prasad Shop in Mandir complex or nearby and you must take Prasad from main Narkanda town itself Please note that there is no Dhaba/,Tea shop in Mandir complex and so keep all your eatables/,medicines from Narkanda town itself Please don't offer any eatable to Monkey either you can...

The place where u can find peace 🙏🏻jai hatu maa bless us all.. At 3300 meters and 8 km from Narkanda, when you travel through the road surrounded by pine and spruce trees, on top of the hill, is situated an ancient Hatu Mata temple. The peaks offers spectacular view of the entire Himalayan ranges, snow clad mountains and in depths are the dense forests, green fields and apple orchards. On one side are the deep and steep valleys with tall deodar trees forming charming patterns and on the other side you can see rock solid mountains almost pushing you into the valley. With every turn of the road, you feel the sharp ascent and the scenery around you changes. Best view is of course from the top of the Hatu Peak viewpoint. On a clear day, you get a panoramic view of the snow capped Shrikhand Mahadev peaks from here.  Hiking is recommended to reach the peak.

History

Hatu is a ancient  Temple located in dense forest. It ‘s enclosed by lush greenery,Pine and spruce trees on the hill top. With serene view of  Peak . It is highest peak of the area at 11000 feet .Hatu is ultimate destination for tourist and devotees.Fascinating and astonish landscape makes people to visit again and again .Hatu is a small beautiful wooden temple .People comes with their wishes to temple ,it is a belive that asking with true heart will definitly get fulfilled  something . According to local belief the famous hatu mata temple is the temple of ‘Mandodari’ wife of ‘Ravna’. People come in great number on the first Sunday of ‘Jeth’ (name of hindi month) to pay ritual here. Goat sacrifice is still in practice near the temple.hat it’s where the Pandavas brothers prepared and cooked their food during their agyaat vaas.

There is a legend, which stems from the Bhagwad Gita, that the Pandavas brothers spent part of their time in exile on the top of this Himalayan mountain. Having gambled away their fortune and wife, they were cast out from their clan for thirteen years. They also had to remain invisible to people for a period of one year. Should that condition be broken they had to spend a further thirteen years in exile (apparently they succeeded). There is a legend that Pandavas spent part of their life during there exile here on Hatu peak. There are two giant stones, shaped like a chullah called “Bheem Chullah” stands as an evidence in...

visited here in february first week, 2018, with hope of finding snow...wasnot disappointed. went from naldehra(near shimla) to narkanda(around 60kms), where this peak is located. if you want to trek the whole way, it is around 7kms from narkanda to hatu peak(or temple)...you can also ask the cab driver to drop you at a location from which the hatu peak is 3kms. lets call this point maggi point. from this point on, driving a vehicle up the slope is stupidity(not adventure). some points worth noting: narkanda is the last point where you have access to proper public toilets. from narkanda to the maggi point is also a difficult drive, the path is broad enough for one car only, not an suv(though i have seen people from neighbouring areas(read delhi) bring up the storm and make trek miserable for others)...it is much sensible to bring along a local driver/cab. maggi point is the last point you will have anything to eat. it is advisable to take a bit of water with you when you walk upto the peak. *the trek from maggi point to the hatu peak is not steeply inclined, kids can manage the incline with some help...but be very careful with the shoes you wear. wear shoes that dont slip. if you are there just for the snow, you can hike half way and you will get what you want... however, the view from the top is much more than the effort you will put in to get there. the uphill trek, pauses to breathe in as air becomes rarer, sitting to soak up the view at the top, photography, leisurely downhill trek took me around 5 hours. can be done in half that time if you are hurried but then what is the point. *if you are visiting in winters, wear as much as you can, thermals, pullovers, jackets...better be overdressed than under... it is really cold up there with winds addind up to the chill. few people know about this place...if someone tells you to go to kufri/fagu give these suggestions a pass , instead go for hatu peak. no crowd, better views, better hike, better chances of finding snow and minimal...
