Renuka Lake, located in the picturesque Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, is a serene and tranquil spot nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas. Known for its scenic beauty and religious significance, this lake is an idyllic destination for nature lovers, pilgrims, and adventure enthusiasts alike. The lake, named after Goddess Renuka, is believed to be shaped like the profile of a woman lying down, adding to its mystique. The surroundings are lush with dense forests, offering a peaceful atmosphere perfect for relaxation. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely boat ride on the lake, which allows them to soak in the stunning views of the surrounding hills and forests. The calm waters, reflecting the natural beauty around, create a picturesque setting ideal for photography. In addition to its natural charm, Renuka Lake holds cultural and religious importance. It is associated with the Renuka Devi Temple, dedicated to Goddess Renuka, the mother of Lord Parashurama. Pilgrims visit the temple to seek blessings, especially during the annual Renuka Fair, which sees a large gathering of devotees. The fair is a vibrant event showcasing local customs, folk dances, and traditional music. For nature lovers, the area is rich in wildlife and is home to the Renuka Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary houses various species of flora and fauna, including leopards, deer, and several bird species, making it an excellent spot for birdwatching and wildlife photography. Accessibility to Renuka Lake is convenient, as it is well-connected by road from nearby towns like Nahan. The lake and its surroundings offer a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life, making it a perfect destination for those seeking solace in nature's embrace. Whether you're there for a spiritual experience or a tranquil escape, Renuka Lake is an unforgettable destination.

It's a holy place in Himachal . It's a WLS full of birds and natural flora n funna . Lake has a walk over of 3.5 km . You can spot few animals around ìn mini zoo. Boating for kids and adults is good . Temple to worship and for blessings . Peaceful and quite place to be with . Relax , walk and enjoy the nature . I like walk so this place is now in my visit again place . Good food is a issue here to get, but manageable. Book your hotel before leaving . Limited space available in summers and in winters it's manageable.

This is the largest lake in Himachal Pradesh but India's smallest wetland under RAMSAR site. Nice place to roam around the Sri Renuka Ji wetland including Parsuram Tal. Zoo and temple area are neat & clean, silenced and well managed by the authorities. Highly recommended to keep this place in bucket list for your Himachal trip.
