Shangchul Mahadev Temple — Attraction in Himachal Pradesh

It was worth driving on bumpy roads in rain to visit this place. Green meadows beautiful temples and welcoming people made the day. Location was picturesque and surrounding was full of clouds. The mountains around these meadows added brilliance to out pictures and there was a calmness to feel. It is good if you visit here when there are not much clouds. The cafes around are good too. The host treated us with fresh apples from the fields. If you go further on the road there is a beautiful way with apple trees and giant mountain views. There will be some small waterfalls and beautiful cafes. The hostels here are good if you want to stay. I visited in September and it was extended monsoon there. It would be great to visit in early Apr to get the clear view without clouds. Please make sure you maintain dignity as this is a holy Ground. No smoking or drinking is allowed here. शंगचुल महादेव मंदिर – घर से भागे प्रेमियों को मिलता है यहां आश्रय

हिमाचल प्रदेश जितना अपनी प्राकृतिक सुंदरता के कारण जाना जाता है उतना ही यहां की परंपराओं के कारण भी। आज हम आपको बता रहा है कुल्लू के शांघड़ गांव के देवता शंगचूल महादेव के बारे में जो घर से भागे प्रेमी जोड़ों को शरण देते हैं।

शांघड़ गांव कुल्लू की सेंज वैली में है।

पांडव कालीन शांघड़ गांव में कई ऐतिहासिक धरोहरें हैं। इन्ही में से एक हैं यहां का शंगचुल महादेव मंदिर।

यहां डलहौजी के खज्जियार की तरह ग्रास फील्ड है।

शंगचूल महादेव की सीमा में किसी भी जाति के प्रेमी युगल अगर पहुंच जाते हैं तो फिर जब तक वह इस मंदिर की सीमा रहते हैं उनका कोई कुछ नहीं बिगाड़ सकता।

शंगचुल देवता का मंदिर

यहां तक की प्रेमी युगल के परिजन भी उससे कुछ नहीं कह सकते। शंगचुल महादेव मंदिर का सीमा क्षेत्र करीब 100 बीघा का मैदान है। जैसे ही इस सीमा में कोई प्रेमी युगल पहुंचता है वैसे ही उसे देवता की शरण में आया हुआ मान लिया जाता है।

यह मंदिर जल गया था इसका निर्माण दोबारा किया गया है।

अपनी विरासत के नियमों का पालन कर रहे इस गांव में पुलिस के आने पर भी प्रतिबंध है। इसके साथ ही यहां शराब, सिगरेट और चमड़े का सामान लेकर आना भी मना है। न कोई हथियार लेकर यहां प्रवेश कर सकता है और न ही किसी प्रकार का लड़ाई झगड़ा तथा ऊंची आवाज में बात नहीं कर सकता है। यहां देवता का ही फैसला मान्य होता है।

शंगचुल देवता की प्रतिमा

यहां भागकर आए प्रेमी युगल के मामले निपट ही नहीं जाते तब तक मंदिर के पंडित प्रेमी युगलों की खातिरदारी करते हैं।

शंगचुल देवता का क्षेत्र -

गांव में ऐसा कहा जाता है कि अज्ञातवास के समय पांडव यहां कुछ समय के लिए रूके थे। कौरव उनका पीछा करते हुए यहां आ गए। तब शंगचूल महादेव ने कौरवों को रोका और कहा कि यह मेरा क्षेत्र है और जो भी मेरी शरण में आएगा उसका कोई कुछ बिगाड़ सकता। महादेव के डर से कौरव वापस लौट गए।
