This is a strange form of the Thousand-Handed Kali. The goddess holds a sword in her left hand, a five-pointed star in her right hand, her left foot is on a lion and her right foot is on a lotus flower. This form also has a special meaning. Having two feet on both sides means that the mother is always present in water and on land. And with the five-pointed star in her right hand, the mother is protecting everyone. And if someone makes a mistake or goes the wrong way, the mother also shows him a sword to make him aware. This form of Mother Kali is not seen often. However, the Hajar Haat Kali is particularly popular in South India. There is a statue of the mother, about 25 feet high, in the Hajar Haat Kalitala in Shibpur, Howrah. The area is named Hajar Haat Kalitala after the name of the goddess. It is said that no one has been able to count the thousand hands of the mother till now. There is also a taboo on counting. Hazar Hath Kali Temple is located in Shivpur, Howrah. A seat of power worship in history. Ashutosh Mukhopadhyay is the head of this temple. It is known that he saw the form of this statue while dreaming. According to legend, this Kalimandir was started in 1880. The temple is still served by the family of Tantric Ashutosh Mukherjee.

According to the Chandi Purana, this Chandi form is one of the many forms Goddess Durga assumed while killing Mahishasura. And in this century-old temple, the mother is worshiped as Chandirup. This temple is very popular among the locals.

Not only Howrah or Kolkata but also many people from outside states come to this temple to fulfil their wishes. It is known that someone from South India came to this temple. He was blind when he came to the temple. Coming to this temple, he prayed to his mother to regain his sight. Then the man regained his sight. He promoted this temple of Mother in South India and like Howrah and Kolkata this temple of Olabibitla is very popular in South...
