Everything that glitters is not gold but the City of Pearls glittering like gold is a sight to behold. This is one place every Hyderabadi must visit and experience. The view of the city from the top of the Moula Ali hill is amazing and early mornings or post sunsets is the ideal time to visit this place. For the view, one must have to climb around 300 to 400 steps. Not just for the view, but this place is famous for its historical relevance and is among my top 5 places to visit in Hyderabad. . On the top of this hill is a Sufi shrine (dargah) and the dargah is believed to house an imprint of Ali, Prophet Muhammad’s son-in-law. According to local belief, one of the 16th-century sultan Ibrahim’s Quli Qutub Shah’s courtiers Yakoob dreamt of the imprint of Ali’s palm and then discovered a similar imprint in one of the rocks in the area. Soon after, a shrine was built around the rock with the help of the Qutb Shahis. Read moreMoula Ali Dargah is on top of the Hill. It has 484 steps and Nearly 600 tombs around it. In 1578, a eunuch of the Qutub Shahi court named Yakut was ill. He dreamt that a man in green dress told him to visit Moula Ali hill because Hazrat Ali was waiting for him on top of the hill. In his dream Yakut went to the hill with the man and saw Ali sitting on top of the hill resting his hand on a stone. The next morning, Yaqut's illness was cured and a stone was found on the hill, which is said to have had the hand marks of Ali on it. After hearing about this incident, the Sultan visited the hill and ordered a dargah to be built on top of the hill. The stone that was found is kept in the shrine on top of the hill. The View from the top is...
