Sitaram Bagh Mandir, nestled in the bustling city of Hyderabad, is a splendid example of architectural and cultural synthesis. This 200-year-old temple complex, dedicated to Lord Rama and his consort Sita, is a heritage site recognized by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH). The temple spans an impressive 25 acres, featuring multiple shrines and airy courtyards, a goshala (cow shelter), a ved pathshala (educational institution), and residential quarters, all within the serene embrace of its high walls. The main temple, built in 1833 during the Qutb Shahis' reign, was a project of Puranmal Ganeriwala, a banker to the Nizams of Hyderabad, and continues to be managed by the Ganeriwal family.

The architecture of Sitaram Bagh Mandir is a harmonious blend of North and South Indian styles, with European influences adding a unique character. The temple's entrance, with its towering gopuram, is reminiscent of South Indian temple designs, while the inner sanctum sanctorum reflects the Mughal and Rajasthani styles, with European architectural elements also present. The idols of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita, carved from marble brought from Jaipur, are housed within this tranquil space. Additionally, the Varadarajaswamy shrine within the complex showcases the Dravidian architecture style prevalent in South India.

Visitors to Sitaram Bagh Mandir can expect a peaceful atmosphere, despite the temple's location amidst the crowded streets of Hyderabad. The temple complex is a labyrinth of interconnected courtyards, each accessed through imposing gateways, leading to the main sanctum sanctorum where devotees can seek blessings. The temple not only serves as a place of worship but also as a testament to the rich cultural tapestry of India, reflecting the diverse architectural practices that have flourished in the region.

The temple's historical significance and its role in the community are well-acknowledged, with many visitors praising its peaceful ambiance and the well-maintained premises. It is a place where history and spirituality converge, offering a glimpse into the past while continuing to serve the spiritual needs of the present. The Sitaram Bagh Mandir stands as a beacon of Hyderabad's cultural heritage, inviting all who wish to experience its beauty and sanctity. With its free entry and open doors to visitors every day, it remains an accessible and welcoming destination for both tourists and...

Built around 300 years ago, this beautiful temple displays the sight of a fort from outside and inside going ahead with the winding pathway you have the shrines. First one is that of Hanuman at the front of which there is a Shivlinga. At the front you have a beautifuly laid out pond which is now fenced and water is quite muddy and dirty and perhaps not used. Opposite to the pond you have the shrines dedicated to Sriman Narayana (Balaji), Sita Ram and there is small shrine for Ganesh. The Praharam of this Narayana Mandir and Hanuman Mandhir have spacious and well laid out corridors wherein you may sit and meditate or recite your prayers. Though you need to wade along congested roads to reach the temple, once you get into it, the atmosphere is very calm, quite and serene. Located at the center of the city, this was reportedly built by some Rajasthani king and is now maintained well by the community. One of the divine destinations of Hyderabad, this is a 'never...
