One of the most unforgettable moments during my Gulmarg trip was reaching the mountain edges near the top of Apharwat Peak. As I walked past the last gondola point, the terrain slowly turned into wide, open ridges — and then suddenly, there it was: a steep drop with a stunning valley view below.

The edge felt like the end of the world — mist rising from the slopes, icy winds brushing my face, and silence all around. I could see the deep valley stretching into the distance, dotted with forests, and the horizon lined with distant Himalayan peaks. It felt both thrilling and peaceful, standing there, far above the noise and stress of daily life.

At one point, clouds passed beneath me — and I realized I was literally above the clouds, on the very edge of the mountain. There were no heavy crowds, no fences, just raw nature and a deep...

If you want to enjoy the real beauty of Kashmir then trek from Gondala point to phase 1. You will see lots of fresh snow. Snow trekking is more adventurous than any other trek. Start trekking early in the morning. You will reach the top of the time and come back till the sun sets. Carry a water bottle and something to eat...
