We happened to visit in the night and were skeptical about the crowd but it turned out to be a pleasant evening. There was plenty of lighting and quiet a few families, it seemed safe and lively. We couldn't see much of the beach or sea as it was dark but we could make it would have been scenic, we could see an inlet and some mangroves.
