Well Well Well .. Went for an evening stroll at Hebbagodi Kere today. While Kere in Kannada kind of translate to lake, this is definitely not one. This is an open air sewage treatment plant. The stench hangs in the air and is the welcome you get along with the sight of bright yellow flowers. Water quality makes sewage green with envy .. The fencing around the lake looks flimsy and broken in many places, consequently you can see two wheelers coming in for a stroll. There is a large family of Little Grebes (and some Coots) which can be used for research purposes in understanding how animals can endure such filth and build resistance to bacterias and viruses .. While the lake caters to liquid waste, the road near the lake caters to solid waste, and there is a dumpyard next to the lake which hasn't even spared the graveyards .. May be a good place for a walk if you got covid and lost your sense of smell, otherwise...
