..... I'm a parishioner of Holy Cross Church. It is one of the oldest and well known parishes of Mangalore Diocese.... It has an interesting history and certain evidences of the same are preserved in some form or the other. The famous Fr. Alexander Duboi, popularly known as Frad Saib and the locals call him "Kulyarda Ajjer" fondly, is the reason for the popularity of this place of worship. Over the last many years, a lot of developmental works for spiritual benefit as well as local community benefit have been taken up. The place lends itself to calm and prayer and every other person who visits this place has his/her favourite corner to pray and thank God. Moreover, the present Vicar and his two assistants are doing a commnedable job in spreading the love of God and to one and all. Also, there are numerous activities throughout the year, to keep alive the one big family spirit of my beloved parish. I'm also privileged to host/compere certain events of the parish community. Moreover, a lot of people have come and settled in Kulshekar for its proximity to the city. Cordel hall is a famous place for weddings and other ceremonies, irrespective of caste creed and religion. There is an air-conditioned auditorium which is a preferred place for smaller functions and events. Finally, people of all faiths come to "Kulyarda Ajjer" to pray for his blessings and offer their prayers and petitions. May God bless us all..... 150 years year's to Holy Cross Church Cordell Kulshekar will be celebrating on 14&17 September 2023. Frad Saib built the church and he died around same time. His faith was such that he used to give jadibhuti Madeline and people used to feel cure themselves . After his death by faith people started to consume the Soil from his thumb behind the present church and felt cured relieved from many sickness. It is one of the oldest churches in Mangalore built by Rev. Fr. Alexander Dubois. Calm and peaceful place. Ample space is available for parking. The garden of the passion of cross stations is vast and liturgical celebrations during holy week are conducted here.
