Hoysala Era Shri Vijayanarayana Swamy Temple — Attraction in Karnataka

Temple is very close to the highway, and within the town; now, thickly surrounded by shops and residential buildings. So, you shouldn’t have any difficulty in reaching.

Though small, the temple is kept very clean. With simple decoration, the deity was looking beautiful.

If you happen to go on a Thursday evening at around 7pm, you can join the local group for a session of bhajan. After the mangalarathi, the group distributed prasadam. They were so friendly, got into good conversation, guided us with the list of nearby very old temples that should be visited, even though some of them are in ruins.

அருள்மிகு ஶ்ரீ கமலவல்லி தாயார் சமேத ஶ்ரீ விஜய நாராயணர் திருக்கோயில், (குண்டலுப்பேட்டை) குண்டல்பேட் எனும் ஊர், சாம்ராஜ்நகர் மாவட்டம், கர்நாடக மாநிலம்.

மைசூர் to நீலகிரிமலை செல்லும் தேசிய நெடுஞ்சாலையில் உள்ள குண்டல்பேட்டை ஊரின் மையப்பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ள, 10-ஆம் நூற்றாண்டினைச் சேர்ந்த இந்த பழமைமிகு திருத்தலத்தின் கருவறையில் (சற்று உயரமான பீடத்தில்) நம் பெருமாள், சற்றே உயரம் கொண்டவராக நின்ற திருக்கோலத்தில் அருட்காட்சியளித்திட, தனி சன்னதியில் தாயார் அமர்ந்த நிலையில் அழகு அருட்காட்சியளிக்கிறாள்.

அர்த்த மண்டபத்தில், உற்சவர் ஸ்ரீ பரவாசுதேவப் பெருமாள் ஸ்ரீ தேவி, பூதேவியருடன் அமர்ந்த திருக்கோலத்தில் அருள்பாலிக்கிறார்.

சாம்ராஜ்நகர், மைசூர் மாவட்டங்களில் பிரசித்தி பெற்ற பழமைமிகு வைணவ திருத்தலத்தலங்களில், (கர்நாடக மாநில தொல்லியல் துறையின் கீழுள்ள) இந்த விஜயநாராயணர் பெருமாள் ஆலயமும் ஒன்று.

கங்கர்கள் (மேற்கு கங்கா வம்சம்) காலத்தில் கட்டப்பட்டு, ஹொய்சாள மன்னர் விஷ்ணுவர்த்தன் காலத்தில் சிறப்பாக திருப்பணிகள் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ள இந்த பழமைமிகு சிறு ஆலயத்தின் மண்டபம் மற்றும் தூண்களில் வடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள கலைநயம் மிக்க சிற்பங்கள் அத்தனையும் அருமை.

பெருமாளுக்கு உகந்த அத்தனை விழாக்களும் சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்படும் இத்தலத்தின் இறைவன் முன் இருந்தே, இவ்வூர் மக்கள் தங்கள் இல்லங்களில் நடைபெறும் சுப நிகழ்வுகளை...

It is an ancient temple and very beautiful too. It has a nice sculpture. It's was built in time of Gangas period (Western Ganga Dynasty) God vijayanarayana Swamy idol is very beautiful and It's in standing posture. It's very nice place to visit.
