You read SHANTALA Novel. Go through the Hoysala kingdom history. Go back to 11th Century AD. All present names of places and roads not there. No tarmac. All you can see are horse carts, bullock carts, elephant rides and pedestrians. Lots of thick forest. No electricity. Your business you have to finish within Sun rise and Sun set. Now you climb the hill top. That time no steps were there. Wild animals were moving around. Now only monkeys irritate you. At the top of this hill , if history is true Hoysala kingdom lost its great icon of Bharstanatyam the dancing Queen. Everything in this world is temporary. God gives one thing and takes black another. Great Dancer great Queen, great inspiration to sculptures living till now at Belur and Halebidu in the sculptures. If you know the history you may become bit dull imaging the past scene. Otherwise it is as usual trekking. You are on top of granite monolith. Enjoy the areal view of the surround. Watch Sun rise or sun set. Go by your vehicle or catch KSRTC from Majestic.Walk a little, climb a little, imagine the past, control emotions, enjoy present and come...

As we all know it's best place for trucking with family and friends, when we are climbing we come across many small shops which sell water bottle and snacks, most of the people carry the water bottles to the top of the hill and throw them from this "Shantala drop" for fun but please keep in mind whatever the nature u enjoyed today will not be for tomorrow if u throw the plastic around the place because plastic in the nature will reduce the rainfall in this place, gradually the place will lose its beauty. Previously I took part in cleaning the base of "shantala drop" point we collected a huge amount of plastic which was thrown by the visitors like u and me.

*Please keep the place clean. Carry a plastic bag while climbing and whatever u use put it in the bag and carry back to the bottom of the hills and dump it in the dustbin.

Please check the picks which was taken during the...

Shvagange hills one of the top mountain located in bangalore surroundings. It's located pretty lose to NH-4 Bengaluru_Mumbai Highway. Dasbaspet is a nerest road side point. From Dabaspet flyover we will get share autos and other private vehicles to reach the base point. It's pretty difficult to climb the hills, some of the area doesn't have proper stairs, it might leads to leg pains, but you will Enjoy once you reach the top of mountain.

No need to worry about food and beverages, Many of the stalls available on the way till top of the hills. Plan this mountain claiming when weather is pleasant. Winter early mornings are best time to start.

Adventuress people must...

The place name is Shivaganga. It means it is related to lord Shiva and a large statue of Shiva is situated in the middle of trek. Around 70% of trek is normal but last 30% is really tough n very dangerous. I do not advise it for old people, children without company n pregnant women. One mistake can kill anyone instantly so pls be extra careful. Almost everyone treks bare foot but this is not a compulsion. When you reach the peak, view is damn good with fresh air. Descending is not easy considering you have lost energy going up so pls come back before dark. Parking: is avalable inside gate with a nominal charge. Drinking Water: is sold upto half way through trek.
