Location: SRS Betta is located near Ramanagara, around 65 km from Bengaluru via Mysuru Road. You can reach by car or bike in about 1.5–2 hours. It's a great weekend getaway spot from Bangalore. Timings: The temple and hill are open from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It’s best to start early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise and avoid the heat. Temples will be close around 2 to 4pm. and people will not be allowed for trek afternoon and allow after 4pm. Trek could be little difficult & risky for kids below 10years. Facilities Available: - Ample parking space at the base. - Toilets available near parking. - Drinking water taps near temple area. - Small shops for sugarcane juice, Icecream , snacks, tea, and coconuts at the base. - Footwear stand and storage room near temple. Trek Difficulty: Moderate – Around 400–450 steps carved into the rock. It's a manageable climb for most age groups, though elderly visitors might need to rest at intervals. Hand railings are present along the way for support. Temple Details: At the top, you’ll find the Sri Revanna Siddeshwara Temple, dedicated to a revered Veerashaiva saint. The place is spiritually vibrant and peaceful, especially on Mondays and during Maha Shivaratri. There's also a Nandi idol and a cave temple that add to the experience. Views & Atmosphere: Once you reach the summit, the panoramic view of the surrounding hills and forested area is breathtaking. A perfect blend of spirituality and nature. It's also a photographer’s delight! check for photos for more details. Tips for Visitors: - Wear comfortable shoes and carry water. - Early morning or late afternoon is best for pleasant weather. - Avoid on extremely hot days as steps can become exhausting. - Respect temple customs and dress modestly. - Monkeys are present – keep food inside bags. Nearby Attractions: - Ramadevara Betta (Sholay Hills) – 25 mins drive - Ramanagara Silk Cocoon Market – Local experience - Kanva Reservoir – Peaceful water body - Janapada Loka – Folk museum en route

Ramanagara is around at a distance of 49 kms from Bangalore. We started from kengeri ksrtc bus station at around 6:30 am in a ksrtc bus which headed to mysuru. We got down at ramanagara ksrtc bus station at around 8:30 am. We had a quick breakfast at a near by hotel at a reasonable price. We took a local auto from the bus station to the srs hills which is at around 14 kms from the ramanagar ksrtc bus station. We reached the hills in 20 minutes. We started our trek at around 9:30 am and reached the peak by 12:00 pm and took the blessings of the lord sri revanasiddeshwara swami. We got down the hills by 1:30 pm. And again we took a ksrtc bus from srs to the ramanagara ksrtc bus station. We Had our lunch at a near by hotel. We started back to the Bangalore by 3:00 pm. There are very frequent ksrtc bus available both the ways. The SRS - Revana Siddeshwara Hills is amazing with awesome scenery at the top hill. I visited SRS with family and this place can be reached easily from Ramanagara(14 km),Maddur(38 km)and Bangalore (63 km).No trekking/parking charges .At the bottom of the hill there are a Shiva temple and various shops available for snacks. As we started the trek, the climbing was not difficult since steps were craved and covered with sheet on the top with also grills around. The trek can be done in 30 minutes to the top hill. The monkeys on the way add fun .At one spot of the rock hill, its bit scary where need to be bit careful.Once we reached the top hill spent about 2 hours enjoying beautiful nature around. At one side of the hill there is lake view and on the other sides its surrounded by various other hills. The 300 feet high makes it exciting. At back of the top we need to step down to visit a temple if needed. Overall I feel, this is great place to be with family and friends.

SRS Hills is a great spot for a short trek and some quiet time away from the city. It’s about 1.5 to 2 hours from Bangalore, near Ramanagara. The climb is around 300 steps—manageable for most people—and takes you past a few small temples before you reach the main one at the top. The views are amazing—rocky hills, open skies, and lots of greenery. Entry starts around 8 AM, and they usually stop allowing the climb by 3 PM, so it’s best to go early. There’s paid parking available near the base, and it’s pretty convenient. Just keep an eye on your stuff—there are monkeys around who love snacks! Some parts near the pond could be cleaner, but overall it’s peaceful, scenic, and worth a visit if you're looking for a quick half-day getaway with a bit of nature and spirituality.

Sri Revana Siddeshwara is considered as a reincarnation of the great Jagadguru Shri Renukacharya who was ordered by Shiva to take incarnation on earth to spread Bhakti among the people.[1] With the blessings of Lord Shiva, Jagadguru Reṇukacharya (also known as Revaṇaradhya or Revaṇasiddha) was one of the five acharyas who came in the Kali Yuga to teach and preach Virasaivism. He is aforesaid to possess been born from the Somesvara linga, however, to possess traveled everywhere Asian nation to show Virasaivism. The Someshwara temple is located in Kollipaki. Texts date this legendary saint to the time of the Ramayaṇa since he was the teacher of the nice sage Agastya of Panchavati. This saint is alleged to possess consecrated thirty million liṇgas at the bid of Ravaṇa's brother, Vibhiṣaṇa, once Ravaṇa's death. He finally established the Rambhapuri maṭha. The Reṇuka gotra of the Virasaivas is known as once him. As mentioned above Shri Revana Siddeshwara was the reincarnation of Great Jagadguru Shri Renukacharya. Thus, with the blessings of Lord Shiva, Renuka emerged from the Somashekhara linga close to Hyderabad's Kolli saakshi kshetra, and have become called Revana Siddeshwara. According to Indian mythology, the lord preached “Patsala lingaanga saamarasya tatwat” to Agastya Maharshi. He also visited Sri Lanka as per Vibhishana's advice to King Ravana, he installed three crores of shivalingas. In this approach he even convinced many kings and emperors across Indian States to unfold shivabhakti. Revana Siddeshwara, throughout his Mission Shivabhakti campaign, once lived on a mountain at Averahalli near Ramanagara in Karnataka. That place is even currently called a holy shivakshetra [Shiva place]. Finally once he was in kolli saakshi kshetra once more, as per lord Shiva's wish, he became lingaikya and reached Kailasa, the abode of Lord Shiva. The place wherever he did anushthaana in Avarehalli is understood as Revanasiddeshwara...
