From my personal experience I have been to this farm only once, but when I went with my family beginning of this year it was free for all of us, but they use to charge a minimum fee if you are in a large group of more than 10 members. But recently I heard from July 2020 onwards they have started collecting a fee of Rs.50 from all and sometimes you can get it refunded on some certain purchases from their various lots and nursery (*pls note I’m not fully sure of the money being refunded on certain purchase, because I was told by a friend who happen to visit this place somewhere in August).
Now from my personal experience when I went, I have to really appreciate the fact how such a wonderful and good establishment like this especially a farm 80-90% self funded is running for customers or visitors for free unless you are buying something from one their stalls or shops or nursery. Even if you don’t buy anything from there and are just there doing window shopping or even just visiting, there is no charge and none of the staffs or employees are bothered to see what you are upto, but they are friendly and co-operative.
Especially it is not easy when you have so many domesticated animals and birds of various species and on top of that, providing them with top notch shelter and food. And as well as maintaining the landscape, the surrounding and ambience is all perfect need I say more it is excellent & fabulous. I literally couldn’t believe how they were able to maintain it so well and clean and most importantly hygiene by all means, especially in a country where ever or mostly if you look around in Kerala most of our streams, canals, even ponds and lakes are filthy and mostly polluted. But this on the other hand is so clean and well maintained. Remember this farm was submerged in the 2018 Great Flood and partially submerged in the 2019 flood too, so despite all this they managed to maintain & retain the overall look and scenic ambience and this is what really amazed & amused me.
Inside they have a good restaurant and tea stalls with clean washrooms and toilets. And an Organic fertilizers and plant store with a nursery, along with a souvenir shop and a fancy gift shop. They even have paddle boats with a very small fee per pax for you and your young ones to enjoy and relax, after a long walk through the farm. Hence I’m giving it an overall five ⭐️
Now if you ask me is it worth paying the entry fee, well yes it does because they have so many employees and staffs who are trying their best to preserve this place to maintain that legacy and heritage. Hence the fee, but charging Rs. 50/person might seem a bit pricey from visitors point of view.
On the whole, I still recommend this place and am pretty sure you too will enjoy if you love...
