Kadambrayar, located in the Kizhakkambalam Gram Panchayat in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, is emerging as a charming eco-tourism destination that beautifully combines verdant nature with a tranquil rural lifestyle. Known for its emerald waters, lush paddy fields, and swaying coconut groves, Kadambrayar offers visitors a refreshing retreat and a chance to experience the authentic essence of Kerala’s countryside.

The river’s calm, emerald-hued waters create a picturesque backdrop that melts away the stress of urban life. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful boat ride along the river, taking in the serene environment and observing local birdlife and aquatic plants.
A charming 1.5-kilometer-long walkway along the riverbank allows visitors to stroll through the village, crossing two suspended hanging bridges that add a touch of adventure and offer idyllic views of the surrounding landscape. This walkway serves as both a recreational spot and a viewing point for nature lovers and photographers.

Read moreits basically a walkway which is located at 2 kms from Wonderla amusement park. Honestly, not really well maintained. There are two bridges in between the walkways across the lake which is a good place to enjoy the view. Other than the lake, there are paddy fields (not cultivated). There seems to be a shop at the end but not aure if that's open. There are a bunch of shops like two bakeries, a hotel and a provisional store at the start of the place. The infrastructure is really bad like there are no lights or benches to sit. There is one shed with a tyre hangings and that's it. No security, no cameras or drinking water or nothing. Heard a lot was spent on this project but i wonder where the money went. Cough politrics💰 cough. The place is good for small walks in the afternoon. And after the sunset you really can't stand there because of mosquitos and all. You can spend time on the bridge even after sunset but honestly it's not safe. There are some guys usually there for catching fish. Overall a missed opportunity for the Govt to encash and maintain one of the better places in Kakkanad which could otherwise have been a good time to spend your precious time. Yeah, no one really cares. Politicians only care about money and election soo no use to talk about them. Anyway sad to see the place getting destroyed day by day due to non...

The Letdowns The Letdowns
1 Inefficient Management:
• Zero Engagement: No guided tours, activities, or informational signboards. Visitors are left clueless about exploring the area.
• Poor Infrastructure: Lack of basic amenities like clean restrooms, shaded seating, drinking water, or proper pathways.
2 Untapped Potential: Such a stunning location feels wasted due to the operators' apathy and disorganization.
Final Verdict
Kadambrayar Tourism is a paradise half-built. While its natural beauty is undeniable, the lack of effort by the operators to enhance visitor experience makes it feel neglected. Ideal for a quick photo stop, not for a fulfilling day out.
Suggestions:
• Train staff to engage visitors (guided walks, storytelling, etc.).
Invest in basic facilities (toilets, benches, signage).
Promote eco-friendly activities like boating, birdwatching, or nature trails.
Cautiously Recommended for serene views, but brace for disappointment if you expect professionalism.
