Read moreBlessed place where avadutha Nithyananda of Ganespuri had spend his younger days working miracles and uplifting the community in terms of their spiritual well-being.
He had built multiple caves over here in order to set a conducive environment for meditation for aspirants reaching here ... Those were the days he amzed the community by working wonders.. Many of his legends are known but most of the stories bounce over our logical reasoning. But the story of "Kottan Swamy" a lunatic by appearance lived in Kanhangad, considered as spiritually uplifted, is worth mentioning..
Kottan, the peasant, was a manual labourer who earned his daily living by hard work. That was the time when Swami Nithyananda started building caves at his ashram. Many plebeians were recruited to raise the edifice and everyone of them were profited with minimum wage at the end of the day concluding their building works. Mr. Kottan also was in this batalian to earn his wages by helping the construction.
One evening as usual the stream of labourers were in queue to receive their wages aligned infront of the Avadutha. The way swamy distributed the wages were mysterious. That evening Mr. Kottan after receiving his dividend joined the queue once again to deceive Avadutha and make extra profit. The moment he came face to face with Avadutha, Swami could read his mind enquired with him "Didn't you receive it?" And kottan reciprocated " no i didnt recieve it Swamy" . Avadutha struck kottan's thigh and uttered " have it".... And that moment onwards Kottan "had it" permanently for his life.
He lead a life equal to an avadutha wandering in the premises of Kanhangad just like a mad man. He used to enter any hotel randomly, messes up the entire settings there , eats up whatever he could procured... But the owners happily endured all this as the blessings from "Kottan swamy". For that they were sure that the collection on that day will be huge as compared to other days. When he attained the samadhi, he was taken to this ashram and performed the rites paying all the...
