Hotel Pancharatna — Restaurant in Kerala

Don't know if it was because i went there with my family (including my mom, sis, cousin sis and aunt) at around 9pm after a long drive, we faced but bad situation there.

The food was good. But the waiters seemed to be tooo tired and not of much interest in serving us.

There was a young guy who kept on looking at my cousins which made them very very uncomfortable and we had to give him a strong look that he moved from where he was standing.

At the end we had told to pack the remaining curry which the employee packed only half of it and came near us wen he saw us checking our bills in detail. He just like that snatched the bill and the amount and went off. We had to tell another employee to pack the remaining curry which was told by us to pack and left back.

Horrible experience.

Place is fair enough but I have seen it slide down in terms of neatness and ambience from the time it started . It's now an okay restaurant serving vegetarian food . Meals cost 55 rupees quite reasonable and serving are large. They serve snacks and Kerala porotas and other items in the morning and evening . Food is not bad and thankfully parking is available in plenty behind the building

I again visited the place again on Nov 2022 abd found it same however the pprtioning has reduced abd service is not that great ! The place could do with better maintenance thought it is not too bad . For a not upmarket nor fine dine restaurant and being a functional restaurant , it is fine. Prices have increased a tad bit. Update 30/06/2024: taste and quality have substantially reduced. We had oothappam, masala bonda, masala Dosha and dahi Puri. Oothapam batter was very sticky. Bonda was so spicy my kid could not eat it. Dahi Puri was average.

Old review: pure veg restaurant in Kanhangad. The food here is great. I had onion dosa, belpuri and pav baji. All served hot. It is better to have the paav baji hot other wise it won't taste that good. They have a common seating space and a seperate family room which is air conditioned. Varieties of dishes available to taste for. Pricing is normal. The best part is, they have open kitchen. Customer can see the neatness of their kitchen from the seating area unlike other restaurants.
