Karapuzha Dam located in the Wayanaddistrict of Kerala, is one of the biggest earth dams in India. Karapuzha Dam is located in the greenish and natural regions of Wayanad, Kerala on the Karapuzha River, a tributary of the Kabini River. Construction on the dam began in 1977 and it was complete in 2004. The purpose of the dam is irrigation and it left and right bank canals are still under construction.2

Wonderful place.. great place for an evening meet...

First thing i could say... its POOR PROMOTION giving to this DAM and its Garden.. no one cares.. even Govt or penchant people , local political leaders etc... The MAIN ATTRACTIONS are: The Main Entrance Gate The Garden, inside A Cool-drinks & Snacks Shop Beautiful Bad weather Shelters Different Fountains & Water Bodies Boating Facility ( Nov, 2017 - Not in operation) Beautiful Children's Park The 3 Gated DAM Awesome Scenery, walking Road The Reservoir Rest Room Parking Zone

The Kanjirapuzha Dam ( dam in 24,000 acres), with three islands & a Fisheries Development Programme [by the Fisheries Department] is on Kanjirapuzha River, (a tributary of Thuthapuzha River, which joins Bharatapuzha River (a part of the west-flowing rivers from Tadri to Kanyakumari). The densely-covered green forest area of the catchment is called the "Vettilachola". Palakkad, Mannarkkad and Ottappalam are mainly benefited...

When it comes to natural beauty, the dam and it's garden( where you'll be spending most of your time) have no deficiencies... Well paved walkways, lawns and trees, everything you need to enjoy an serene environment... The garden is designed in such a way that a long pond like system ( now defunct) with fountains in regular intervals, accompany the entire length of the walking path. Now it's totally devoid of water and it gives an impression that the garden is not maintained well. That's the reason why you find lot of reviews complaining about poor maintenance. There is a park at the end of the dam which houses all the common play area items like slides, swings etc., Etc., There is enough space for small kids to run around to thier...
