Munambam beach is a little more than 1 km from the Cherai beach. It easy to reach from Paravoor. The speciality is that the beach is less crowded compared to the Cherai beach. Ofcourse the beach is smaller but it offers you an opportunity to spent a quiet evening with your family in the company of sea breeze. My family had a great time bathing in the sea.The nearby chidren's park delighted my kids. The sun set with Chinese nets in the background is a sight. We were able to take a lazy walk through the bridge heading to the sea. When the sun finally sets we can see many fishing boats returning to the Munambam harbour. The boats travel in close proximity so that we get a clear glimpse of its interiors as well. Again, there are many local fishermen who tries to sell freshly caught fish in the nearby stalls. If you are lucky you can see them fishing with Chinese nets. If you are finished with your swimming, easy walks and sight seeing, you can approach one of those small shops that offer you hot n cold drinks coupled with crispy snacks. The egg bajji is really great so go for it. If the nature is calling you at this moment please stay away from the comfort rooms. They are horrible beyond descriptions. We may also wish that the beach was a bit more clean. Then our way backhome we decide to have our dinner at Sivettan's thattukada at Cherrai. Its a restraunt which keeps the ambience of a local toddy shop serving mostly sea food. We ate to our hearts content and drove back with a happy heart.

Situated at the northern end of Cherai Beach, Munambam beach (Muziris Golden Beach) is where the River Periyar flows into the Arabian Sea. Munambam beach is among the quaint spots of Vypeen island, situated near the Munambam fishing harbour in Ernakulam district. One has a plethora of beautiful vantage points around the area, ideal for picnics and natural treks, It is a perfect place to sit and enjoy the views, and watch local fishermen in their traditional canoes and colourful boats. The stunning sunset forms the classic backdrop and provides marvellous inspiration to any keen photographer. On my visit I’d experienced a difficulty in finding a parking spot for my car , even though there was a board mentioning the parking fee and hours plus “pay and park” stenciled on the walls, the gate remained closed and no staff were present there and I was forced to park my car on the road side, when I was returning a guy approached me with some slip and asked me to pay INR 20, on my enquiry he introduced himself as staff and the road side is where they allow “ pay and park” facility, but he failed to produce an ID whereby I refused to pay. From nearby people I came to know there’s an approach to the compound which is where the parking arena is situated.

Firstly you have to pay a parking fee for the beachif u go by vehicle. The parking is also outside gate only. No vehicle is allowed inside the gate. A small park is there where family can spend their valuable time. It's good a evening walk and taking good photos. Sometimes u can see dolphins also. U can ride your bike or car on the coast of Arabian sea and then u can find another beach near by while travelling south. Where it can be called as umbrella beach, as it is filled with lovers as they use umbrella. This place is having lot of coconut trees and nice shade to spend good time. U can also have a walk on the beach and swim.

Great place for a relaxed getaway. There is a lot of fun activities at the beach for adults and especially for kids. Beach is good and relatively well kept. Needs regular cleaning though. I saw a lot of home stays bring offered. Get your own vehicle though available might be steep. Fantastic place for carnivores. Veggies bring your own. No guarantee of chaste for. But ask the locals to prepare a proper mallu fare they will oblige to your tastes. Explore Kochi from here. You'll get your hearts content. Ideally look for rooms weth A/C. Could get quite hot during the night night. We expected to sleep in the sea breeze.
