Even it's a couple of miles away from MC Road, a fine elegant and beautiful place of worship. The authorities should be well appreciated for maintaining the traditional and old infrastructure. Was spacious and with enough facilities for prayer. The pond near by is a rare sight not much available in these days. It's a kind of dream destination for those who are in love with architecture and wish to explore the history of our land. Situated in the river bank provides good parking facility too. Was so clean and the work done for maintaining it in such a marvelous condition should be appreciated. The speech form the imam (pader) was also a very good one relating with the day to day affairs, very rare in the present days. If you're passing through the mc road from Changanacherry to Kottayam can spend some time visiting this place.

Thazhathangady Juma Masjid, located near Kottayam in Kerala, is one of the oldest mosques in India, with a history spanning over 1,000 years. The mosque is renowned for its stunning architecture and craftsmanship, featuring intricate wooden carvings, a secret passage, and a water tank carved from a single block of stone. We were captivated by the peaceful and divine atmosphere here. However, our female friends weren't allowed to enter the mosque. Men in shorts are also prohibited, though if your shorts are below the knee, you can still enter. If you're in the Kottayam area, this mosque is a must-visit!

Very old mosque with great woodwork and interiors. Felt like sleeping on the carpets inside. Amazing calmness. Had to wash feet before entering. Non-Muslims are also welcomed here. It was little hard to locate the mosque since it didn’t look like a mosque rather it seemed like an old illam. The inside of this mosque was quite silent and had a certain coolness associated with the wooden roof and structures. They have a time keeping digital instrument used to know the Sunrise & Sunset time.
