A park with a lake. The lake is full of fishes and people come here with there fishing rods and lines. There are two swimming clubs here. People of different age groups like to hang-out here. The East India Company obtained from the Mughal emperor Farrukhsiyar, in 1717, the right to rent from 38 villages surrounding their settlement. Of these 5 lay across the Hooghlyin what is now Howrah district. The remaining 33 villages were on the Calcutta side. After the fall of Siraj-ud-daulah, the last independent Nawab of Bengal, it purchased these villages in 1758 from Mir Jafar, and reorganised them. These villages were known en-bloc as Dihi Panchannagram and Tala was one of them. It was considered to be a suburb beyond the limits of the Maratha Ditch.

But in the evening this place becomes a very dirty place because lot of so called love birds come here and make open love which makes the eye sore. It is quite possible that most of the girls are pro*tutes. As most of the lights are switched off during the evening because of the birds in the trees so this place becomes a dirty work field for the so called love birds. If security and admin look into this it will be a nice place during evening too.
Now a days I can see this place became with the garbages thrown by some people. These are not the persons who come here in the morning for walking and chatting with each other. But outside people when they come this place they have the junk foods and throw the plastic packets, plastic water bottles, sometimes liquor bottles at this place.
This place is also become a place for taking Ganza and other such things during evening.
The water in the lake has also become very dirty. That needs to be cleaned regularly.
Requesting the authority to look into these problems seriously and take necessary action.
