A small but significant museum of historical objects from prehistoric times to present , useful for students , researchers and those interested in heritage . It is situated within the sylvan campus of Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University , Aurangabad , and is part of the Department of History and Ancient Culture . There are very fine exhibits of sculpture , semi precious stones , paintings , coins etc and artefacts from the Bhokardhan excavations , with many informative posters. Photography is strictly prohibited inside .

Located in the campus of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, this museum is very close to Soneri Mahal (Another Museum of Maharashtra Government and Archeological Site). Every Archeology Lover should definitely visit this museum it has ancient literature, art, weapons of Maratha Empire Times, Ancient Sculptures and many more artefact to see and explore. Although photography is not allowed inside the museum I tried some of the pics for all of you my reader and viewers.

Recently visited this Museum. I was particularly interested to see the excavated findings from Bhokardan, as it is one of the best excavations carried out. There are many more sculptures in this museum and also excavated things from other towns. They are safely preserved and stored nicely. One should visit, those who are particularly interested in the history of our state and wants to study it deeply or just see it once.👍❤️

The Department of History & Ancient Indian Culture, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad possesses its own History Museum. It has unique valuable collection ranging from Paleolithic to Early Historic and from Early Medieval to Mughal and Colonial periods. The museum was initiated in 1973 by Dr. R.S. Gupte, the then professor and head of Department of History and Ancient Indian Culture. The collaborative effort of the department's faculty and staff was materialized in the museum building in 1983. The rich collection of Museum was enriched by the donations of Dr. S. B. Deshmukh the ex-curator of the museum. You will find many lost and unseen items here. Statutes of Narayana, Ganesha can also be seen here.
