It is very underrated but awesome. For Punrkars it's one of the best low budget trips with family and friends. You can enjoy beautiful nature as well as ancient carving and shiv temple. Don't need to climb too much. In 10 minutes you can reach the temple. From top you can see amazing view of Maval. As well as you can see the pair of Lohagad - Visapur and Pavna river and Dam area from top. Birla ganpati also can be seen so good from here. Begdewadi Railway line looks so good. Must visit this place...

Ghorawadi are on the Pune - Mumbai expressway. Probably 30 km from Pune. There is Parking Space for Parking your vehicles. It is climb of around 30 min to reach the temple, it's like a small trek. You will get to see Ghoradeshwar Temple there. Some buddist architecture.

So nice place for tracking. Caves of Lord Shiva and Lord Vitthala are at the top of the hill. Sant Tukaram Maharaj use to perform meditation and praying in one of these caves. It's on Mumbai Pune Highway.

Really an amazing place for peace, trekking, enjoying greenery in monsoon. Trekking will take 30-40 minutes to climb on the top. Good place for one day trip and picnic. I had visited October 2020.

घोरावाडी लेणी महाराष्ट्रातील प्राचीन बौद्ध लेणी शेलारवाडी लेणी किंवा घोरावाडी लेणी ही महाराष्ट्रात पुणे शहराजवळच्या शेलारवाडी आणि घोरावाडी गावांजवळची लेणी आहेत. ही लेणी समुद्रसपाटीपासून ४५० ते ५०० मी उंच असलेल्या या डोंगरात आहेत. वर जायला खड्या चढणीच्या पायऱ्या आहेत. ही ९-१० बौद्ध लेणी इ.स.पूर्व पहिल्या ते इ.स.नंतरच्या पहिल्या शतकात खोदली गेली होती. या लेण्यांमध्ये एक शिवमंदिरही आहे. याला घोरावडेश्वर असे नाव आहे. येथे एक चैत्यगृह आणि विहार आहेत. यांची रचना साधी असून थोडेसे नक्षीकाम आहे. एका विहारात विठ्ठल-रखुमाईच्या मूर्ती आहेत. :- Swaminath gaikwad

Description
The Ghorawadi caves, also known as Ghoradeshwar caves or Shelarwadi caves, are around 25 km northwest of Pune, India, were originally Buddhist caves, and now contain carvings and statues of Buddhist and Hindu deities. They are close to the NH4 highway connecting Pune and Mumbai.
