The Godavari Kund in Trimbakeshwar is a beautiful and serene spot for those looking to connect with nature and spirituality. The kund is a holy tank and is built by the Maratha ruler, Chhatrapati Shivaji. The water is considered to be sacred and is said to have healing properties. Many devotees take a dip in the kund as part of their pilgrimage to the Trimbakeshwar Temple.

The kund is surrounded by lush green hills and the atmosphere is very peaceful. The water is clean and clear, and the area is well-maintained. Visitors can also explore the nearby Trimbakeshwar Temple, which is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus.

Overall, the Godavari Kund in Trimbakeshwar is a must-visit for those interested in history, culture and spirituality. The natural beauty and serenity of the place is truly breathtaking.

Keep in mind that Godavari Kund is a sacred place and visitors should respect the local customs and...

Kushavarta Tirtha holds immense religious significance because it is believed to be the place where the sacred Godavari River reemerges after disappearing at the Bramhagiri hills.

It's considered the symbolic origin of the Godavari River.

Taking a holy dip in Kushavarta Tirtha is believed to cleanse one of their sins.

The site is also associated with a mythological account where Sage Gautam took a cleansing bath after inadvertently killing a cow.

Kushavarta is also a venue for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, a major Hindu pilgrimage held every twelve years.

The kund has a stone pavement and verandahs on all sides.

There are small temples at the four corners of the kund: Kedareshwar Mahadev, Sakshi Vinayak, Kusheshwar Mahadev, and a temple dedicated to...

Kushavart kund is the origin of Godavari river. Every day a lot of people come here to take bath. People who come to Trimbakeshwar for tripindi shraadh, Narayan Nagbali, Kalsarp puja etc have to first take bath here and then proceed for Puja.

The kund water is greenish, and not very clean. The water of kund is replenished by external supply through fixed pipeline. The kund is not much deep. Hygiene is an issue around the kund.

There are small temples all around. The structure is old...

Located around a kilometre away from Tribakeshwar Jyotirling. It is said that this is the origin of river Godavari. You can get inside the Kund and have a swim and a few dips. There are barriers (pipes and ropes) to prevent people from getting to the middle where it is a bit deeper. There is one aunty ji having voice similar to Mamta Banerjee, who keeps shouting at people to prevent them from going to the middle. The ambience is nice and peaceful.

Situated around 800 m away from Trimbakeshwar Jyotirling. It is said that this is the beginning of stream Godavari. There is a kund for water center of this construction. It was encircled by sanctuary which is comprised of stone. You can get inside the Kund and have a dip and a couple of plunges. If you go to trimbakeshwar Jyotirling please visit this place.
