An Unforgettable Day Trek to Kavnai Fort during Our Office Trip to Igatpuri. During our office outing to Igatpuri, a group of 5 from our team of 20 decided to take on the challenge of trekking to Kavnai Fort and what a brilliant decision that turned out to be! 🏞️ The early morning climb was serene, with hardly anyone around. We did lose our path midway, but quickly managed to get back on track, making the final push to the top even more rewarding. Reaching the summit was a true moment of accomplishment especially after doing a trek after such a long time! The view from the top was absolutely breathtaking, and to top it off, we came across a peaceful little pond with plenty of fish. We even fed them, hoping for their good wishes! 🐟💫Highly recommend this trek for anyone visiting Igatpuri especially early in the morning for a quiet, soul-refreshing experience. A hidden gem for sure!

Trek to Kavnai ⛰️✨ Solo-trekked to Kavnai Fort, a hidden gem near Igatpuri. Just 1 hrs from Nashik – this quick hike gave me insane views, cool breeze, and pure mountain calm. 💡 Trek Info: • 🥾 Difficulty: Easy (great for beginners) • ⏱️ Duration: 1.5–2 hrs total • 📍 Near Igatpuri (~45 km from Nashik) • 🌄 Best time: Early morning or monsoon season 🎥 Shot on iPhone | No filters needed when nature looks this good 🍃

Kavnai Fort stands as one of the least explored mountain climbs in the Sahyadri ranges. Along easy climbs and rough patches, you’ll be able to conquer the ascend with final rock-cut steps. The fort embarks a small lake along with several temples dedicated to Goddess Parvati along with Lord Ganesha and Hanuman. Difficulty Level - Easy.

Kavnai Fort is located in a hillock, north of Kavanai village in Igatpuri Taluka of the Nashik district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The main gate and a small pond are the only remaining structures. Geography Kavanai village is connected by a road to Igatpuri. Igatpuri is located 18 kilometers away. Kapilatirth is located near the Kavnai village. The ascent to the fort follows a ridge that starts from Kavanai. The final ascent is vertical, with poor rock-cut steps crossed by a ladder. History The fort was built by Moghuls. It was ceded to Peshvas by Nizam under the terms of the treaty after the Battle of Udgir (1760). This fort, along with Tringalwadi and fifteen others were captured by the British army under the leadership of Col. Briggs. It is 1 hour (easy to medium level) trek from the base i.e. Kavnai Village. Eventhough it is not a lengthy trail it has a variety of tracks like muddy, there were stones, steps, metal stair etc. At the top we experienced being inside the clouds☁️, the lush green forests covering the surrounding landscapes 🍃🌿🍃. Cool breeze, drizzling rain (perfect weather) accompanied us ❤️ I would say it is one of the best Forts to go for a monsoon trek 🧗‍♀️ Nestled amongst the quaint villages of Igatpuri (On the way from Mumbai-Nashik Highway), Kavnai Fort stands as one of the least explored mountains climbs in the Sahyadri ranges. Along easy climbs and rough patches, you’ll be able to conquer the ascend with final rock-cut steps. About the Trek: With a commanding view of the surrounding villages and the fort embarks a small lake along with several temples dedicated to Goddess Parvati along with Lord Ganesha and Hanuman. Kavnai is a well-rounded trek, that can satisfy your thirst for...

From kasara railway station you can hire private vehicle, also they pick you up from fort to back to kasara railway station.. but please make sure you have at least 9-10 people's, otherwise it will be costly There is not so many things to see on fort but sunrise is amazing and kavnai Devi temple with pond, and if you do Night trek then u can also do star gazing.. It's a very easy hike to reach the fort from base village, experience Trekkers can reach the fort in about 30-40 mins while beginners required 1 hr . The view from fort is amazing, there is a dam which looks amazing from above, you can also see tringlewadi fort from here..
