Driving through the tunnel at Malshej Ghat feels like stepping into a movie scene. You enter a dark, rocky passage, and within seconds, you’re greeted by a burst of lush greenery, misty valleys, and roadside waterfalls. It’s a simple yet unforgettable moment that captures the raw beauty of the Western Ghats. Why It’s Special: 🌫️ A Dramatic Transition: One moment you’re in a tunnel, the next—you’re surrounded by clouds, cliffs, and cascading waterfalls. 🚗 No Trekking Required: It’s right on the highway—just slow down (or stop safely) and soak in the view. 🌧️ Monsoon Magic: During rains, the waterfalls turn into rushing streams beside your car. It’s wild, refreshing, and breathtaking. Things to Keep in Mind: Watch for Rockfalls: Heavy rains can trigger small landslides or falling rocks, so always stay alert. Best Time to Visit: Monsoon is stunning here—but avoid visiting during extreme weather or official landslide alerts for safety.o Trekking Required: It’s right on the highway—just slow down (or stop safely) and soak in the view. Monsoon Magic: During rains, the waterfalls turn into rushing streams beside your car. It’s wild, refreshing, and breathtaking. Must visit in monsoon!!! Road from Pune via Alandi is very good. If you visit Malshej ghat in monsoon, with at least some rain on that day, there is nothing like it. Only snacks food available nearby. Please visit all 3-4 view points including one near MTDC resort and one nearby tunnel. All view points are safe for kids and family, highly recommended!!!
