Visiting Rajmachi in the monsoon should be on the top of your list of your adventurous soul.
Reaching there is half the fun. The off road trail from Della resorts approx 14 kms just gets better for offroading on an Xpulse 200. It's wet, slushy, slippery muddy, periodic Asalphated stretched which disappear at around 6 kms mark.
You need to pay ₹50 for bike to the locals who state they're from forest dept but issue no proper ticket. No one you can complain to about it. And it's probably for ensuring the road stays a mud track all year long. 4 wheelers can be driven approx 9 kms inwards and later parked at the side of the road. You walk faster than the vehicles though.
Other than this you encounter 4-5 water crossings, steep uphill climbs, numerous other challenging road conditions. However, even scooters can be ridden till the foothills of the fort.
This is one of the fort built by our great Chattarapati Shivaji Maharaj. As a matter of fact, these are dual fort system.
The initial part of the ascent is built but later you're on your own. You can consider this on a medium level of difficult during monsoon. Even kids can climb with adult supervision.
On the top, the thrill and the adventure get a different meaning. The flowing saffron and the sense of hindavi swarajyas aroma can be felt. You can't decent without having goosebumps all over your...

The best season to reach there in monsoon. We started at 8 am and it took us 3 and 1/2 hrs to reach the top. There is a nice waterfall where u can take bath. Come down from the cave for a min and take a left which is the route to Rajmachi. The Journey starts here and follow the white arrow. As It was raining the way was little slippery and we reached Rajmachi village by12:30 PM. You can see two peaks from the village. Village people are very good in nature.we reached top by 1:30 PM and took rest for an hour, had our lunch ,food was to good.
1 - The entire hike will take 2 days to complete wherein u can halt at Rajmachi as they have lodge and food facility.

Read moreFirst of all any trek that you make is always a good idea, going in the arms of nature leaving behind the concrete city life is just amazing. You can locate this by taking a train to Lonavala, from their local auto/taxi will take you to the starting village of rajmachi from there the trek begins. Be smart as the transport guys will try to loot you, take your own snacks/lunch, water from home itself and try not polluting the natural environment by carrying all your discarded waste and disposing it in a garbage can. Monsoon is the best recommended season to go trekking at any location, but avoid steep climbing locations in the monsoon. Rajmachi is an amazing trek from the base village it will take atleast 3 hrs to reach to the top if your crew is fast, while going towards the base village there is small lake. The smell the rain the greenery is just amazing, the best feeling ever, do visit ramjachi and try not polluting the...
