This resort claims to be a 5-star property, but honestly, the only thing that feels “5-star” here is the price on the restaurant menu. Everything else falls short of the standard expected from a luxury hotel. 1. When we arrived, the receptionist showed us the rooms. We noticed that several balcony-view rooms were vacant and politely asked for an upgrade. However, the receptionist denied our request saying we already upgraded you and with smirk smile on his face he said “sir aapka booking wala room toh isse hi dayaniya sthiti me hai.” (Sir, your reserved room is in even more pathetic condition) than this. I’m not sure if he was trying to insult us or unintentionally criticizing his own hotel’s room category, but either way, it was an unprofessional and inappropriate comment. And by the way we booked a Delux category room. 2. The swimming pool was another huge disappointment. (I’m attaching a photo for reference.) It was in terrible condition — dirty and poorly maintained, far from what you’d expect at a 5-star resort. 3. The restaurant prices are high, (130 rs for 1 roti, 390 rs for Steamed rice, 100 rs for 1L water bottle). For dinner we went out and had a much better food at Veggie in third of the price than this. 4. I found a big snake on the way to the restaurant. Unfortunately I couldn’t take the video of it as evidence. I’m giving 2 stars, one for allowing us early check-in ( around 12:30 while the official time was 2 pm) and the other for the beautiful valley view the property offers. Other than that, it was a letdown overall.

‌Food was great. Not all dishes but most of the dishes were worth it. Chicken tikka masala, sabj kolhapuri, chola masala, naan, daal tadka were amazing. ‌Palak paneer, paneer masala were below average. ‌Morning breakfast was better than lunch and dinner. Best items were chicken sausage, egg sandwich, veg chilli sandwich, chocolate milkshake, cake, etc ‌Rooms were very good. Especially deluxe rooms. Coffee, tea, cream and sugar sachet were provided along with kettle. ‌ Bathrooms included all the essential items which most of us forget while going out. For example toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, body lotion, shower gel, etc. One thing which got my admiration was the hygiene bag packet to dispose sanitary napkins and diapers. ‌Service was ok. 24*7 service is just on the pamplets as no one answered our phone call at 1 AM. The service delivery time should be lesser. ‌ Resort ambience is too good. Entrance, reception, swimming pool, flora, etc make the best places to click pictures. The top view was awesome to click pictures and hang out at night. ‌ Playing zone included pool table, table tennis, carrom, chess, badminton rackets, cricket items, etc ‌ Network tower were located right outside the resort so there were no network issues for jio, Airtel, BSNL sims. Don't know for Vi. ‌ A great place to spend a weekend. Superb places to click pictures. Tasty food. Luxurious rooms. Overall a wonderful place if you don't have budget restrictions.

Situated right next to the Duke’s retreat on the old Khandala highway, Ikshana is a great stay option, especially during the monsoons. The rooms are spacious and clean and maintained well overall. The food is also amazing and well prepared and fresh. The staff is extremely attentive and helpful. We did have some leakage issue in the bathroom but the housekeeping staff was prompt in ensuring the plumber arrived quickly to resolve the matter. The housekeeping staff in fact even decorated our room on one of the days and left us a hand-written note letting us know that they were at our service. Small gesture but very sweet and powerful. They do have a few tiers of rooms and the valley view room is simply amazing and opens up to the greenery and the beauty of the Khandala valleys. These rooms carry a slightly higher rate and classified as “superior”. It does have all the typical amenities of a resort such as a pool, room service, restaurant and gym. They also have an indoor game room including a pickle ball court (chargeable). They do have a spa as well and the description of the spa treatments (ice bath anyone? 😊) seemed quite interesting and they seemed well priced but unfortunately, we could not avail of the services during our stay due to our schedule. Overall, we were very impressed with the place and experienced the kind of peace and tranquility coupled with great service we were hoping for. Well done team Ikshana.

Wow, where do I begin? Ikshana Resort is one of those rare gems that offers the perfect escape from the city buzz and chaos. From the moment we arrived, we felt wrapped in an atmosphere of calm and warmth—a kind of peace that’s so hard to find in the city.

Divya, Pempoki, and Uttam were like watchful spirits for my family, always there with a smile and a helping hand. Their care and genuine concern, especially for my little niece who came down with a fever, was deeply touching. It’s rare to see such authentic kindness—like they weren’t just doing their jobs, but truly caring for us.

Aashya and Sushant made sure our booking and stay were smooth and stress-free. And I have to give a special shoutout to Sushant for going above and beyond—he surprised us with discount coupons for the spa and wellness services, and at the time of checkout, he gifted my family Lonavala’s famous fudge as a token of appreciation. That sweet gesture felt so personal and thoughtful, turning our departure into a warm farewell rather than just a goodbye.

Beyond the people, Ikshana itself is magical. Surrounded by nature, with breathtaking views and cozy spots to just breathe and unwind, it’s everything you could hope for in a getaway. But really, it’s the people who make it unforgettable—their smiles, their kindness, and the sense of care that turns a simple vacation into a beautiful memory.

We’re already looking forward to more stays at Ikshana in the future—it’s the kind of place that calls you back again and again. Thank you, Ikshana, for filling our hearts with joy and giving us an experience we’ll...
