The Sangli fort popularly known as Rajwada was constructed during early days of regime of the Chintamanrao 1st (the founder of Sangli Sansthan I.e.Princly State) @ 2nd half of 18th century The main massive building of Darbar hall is unique in style with massive25 ft high all teak one piece teak columns and beautiful Peshwa type arches to balkony. The Rajwada has separateals building of the state collector's office.all important offices like revenue,the treasury office are located in fort. At entrance of fort on either side of roads are court buildings in british era architecture. the 50 percent area of fort is now district's central Jail .Two important schools and one primary school is within the walls of fort. A small but beautiful musium of scalupture and handicrafts ,also paintings collection is worth to see. This is great place, where is the government's court- cachrys will takes place. There are lots I illigle works happen. Also there was lots of shops which serves you the forms fillings and advices from the advocates. And another fact is that, there was Police station with a court. Actually, this place is the "Governmental Agency Area" in Sangli area. This place is also known as, Rajwada Area by Sangli's local area. Plus this place have a great historical place.
