A Family Adventure at Tiger Safari, Sanjay Gandhi National Park!

We recently visited the Tiger Safari at Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Borivali with my family, and it turned out to be an good experience that left all of us captivated.

Here's a more comprehensive review:

πŸš— Parking Facility:

The journey began smoothly with a hassle-free parking experience. The paid parking facility was well-organized, and it was convenient to reach the entrance, making our family outing off to a great start.

πŸ’Έ Entry Fees:

Upon reaching the entrance gate, we took the entry tickets, Rs. 94 for adults and Rs. 50 for kids (5 to 12 years).

πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ * Tiger and Lion Safari ticket counter Ticket Counter:**

After entering, we walked approximately 400 meters to reach the Tiger and Lion Safari ticket counter. The additional ticket costs Rs. 108 for adults and Rs. 43 for kids (5 to 12 years).

🚌 Bus Options:

We have the convenience of having both A/C and non-A/C buses available from the pick-up point, catering to the preferences of the tourists.

🌳 Park Setting:

The park, though not very deep, was lush and replanted, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The presence of settled communities inside the park added a unique dimension to the surroundings, providing a glimpse of harmonious coexistence.

πŸ¦πŸ… Wildlife Encounter:

While the lions seemed less active during our visit, the highlight was the tiger encounter. One of the tigers approached our bus freely, providing a truly amazing and thrilling experience. The kids were especially enthralled by the close proximity to these majestic creatures, adding an extra layer of excitement to our family outing.

⏰ Duration of the Ride:

The overall safari ride lasted about 20-25 minutes, but every moment was packed with excitement and awe. The short duration worked well for keeping the kids engaged and interested throughout the experience.

πŸŒ… Best Times to Visit:

I would highly recommend planning your safari during the morning or evening, especially if you're visiting with family and kids. The lighting at these times enhances the beauty of the surroundings, and it's when wildlife tends to be more active, providing a more immersive experience for everyone.

In conclusion, the Tiger Safari at Sanjay Gandhi National Park is a good 3-4 hour engagement for a...

It's just the name Tiger and Lion Safari.

Charge is 75 for Adults and 28 for child it's total waste of money.

It's an ride of approx 15 to 20 minutes in mini bus, where there are only 2 lion (1 lion & 1 Lioness) both are in different cage distance between bus and Cage where they are kept is approx 15 to 20 feet.

So there is no proper view also.

And there is only one TIGER kept in big enclosure and that too in cage.

Here also we have to see tiger from approx 20 feet with np visibility at all.

So if you want to see TIGER & LION in cage that too inside of bus from 20 feet away you are most welcome to visit the park.

I suggest it's TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.

NATIONAL PARK IS SOMETHING WHERE ANIMALS ARE ROAMING FREE AND WE ARE CAGE BUT HERE ANIMALS ARE ALSO IN CAGE.

FIRST YOU HAVE TO PAY ENTRY FEE TO GET INSIDE NATIONAL PARK.

THEN TO SEE LION AND TIGER PAY AGAIN.

AND THEN JUST TO WATCH APPROX 15 TO 20 DEER AGAIN PAY.

AND IF WANT TO VISIT KANHERI CAVES AGAIN PAY A SHARE TAXI RIDE AT 50 EACH HEAD THAT MEANS YOU WILL END TO APPROX 350 - 450 PER HEAD WITHOUT FOOD AND WATER.

ITS NO NO NO FOR THIS...

The park is home to a number of endangered species of flora and fauna. The forest area of the park houses over 1,000 plant species, 251 species of migratory, land, and water birds, 5,000 species of insects, and 40 species of mammals. In addition, the park also provides shelter to 38 species of reptiles, 9 species of amphibians, 150 species of butterflies, and a large variety of fish.10

The forest cover in the park helps provide the ideal habitat for many wild animals. Chital (or spotted deer), rhesus macaque and bonnet macaque are some of the wild mammals often spotted inside the park. Other large mammals found in the park include black-naped or Indian hare, muntjac (barking deer), porcupine, Asian palm civet, chevrotain (mouse deer), Hanuman or grey langur, Indian flying fox, sambar deer and leopard.

Reptiles living here include crocodiles in the Tulsi Lake, pythons, cobras, monitor lizards, Russell's vipers, bamboo pit viper and Ceylonese...

Basically there are tigers, tigress', a lion and a lioness, just like zoo they are kept in cages but huge cages. As and when required, they release any one of them, out of the cage and let it roam in the jungle which is the only thing which makes this safari cool. Small roads between the jungle, gives that fearsome feel. Overall a good thing with kids. Overall a 10 minute journey costs you 90rs. Fair deal. Earlier there used to lion and tiger safari differently but now they are same. Try to be seated on the left hand side and ask the driver if you can get the front seat, it will help you get a clearer picture. ;) Enjoy

Situated in Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Borivali, this is a option that visitors can avail. The lion and tiger safari. The space is huge and dense with trees, specially knowing that the whole park is surrounded by towers and buildings. It does have enough security and reminds a scene from jurassic Park movie. BUT there are hardly couple of lions and may be 3 to 4 tigers. One of them is kept open the other were in cages... Wonder why it is a safari. One of the best safaris in India is in Bangalore with lot of animals including white tigers.
