A Magical Experience at Maninaga Temple A Hidden Gem in the Hills of Odisha In 2022, I had one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life when I visited the Maninaga Temple in Ranpur, Nayagarh, Odisha, with my friends. Nestled on top of a hill, this sacred place not only gave us spiritual peace but also gifted us an adventure like no other.

The journey to the temple itself was thrilling. The road was narrow, steep, and full of twists and turns — at times, it felt dangerous, but that added to the excitement. As we ascended, we could literally feel ourselves getting closer to the sky. The clouds floated around us, sometimes even passing right through us, making us feel like we were walking in heaven. It was a surreal sight, one I will never forget.

We spent around three hours at the top, soaking in the serene atmosphere and having the time of our lives. We clicked loads of photos, did masti, and laughed endlessly. The view from the temple was breathtaking, with lush greenery surrounding us on all sides. The cool breeze, the sound of nature, and the sight of floating clouds made everything feel magical.

The darshan at Maninaga Temple was peaceful and spiritual. The calmness of the place and the energy of the temple brought a sense of inner peace. It truly felt like we had reached a divine place untouched by chaos.

A hidden gem. There are many places like this in Odisha and tourists are not aware of. Thanks to my colleagues with whom I went to this beautiful temple for the first time.

Located on top of the hill, this temple provides a beautiful view of the surrounding. Surrounded by hills and farm lands is just like any heavenly view. But this place needs lots of development. The first is the proper road communication to reach the top of the hill. There are more than 15 hair pin bend and the road is very narrow where only one car can travel at a time. Also barricades on the road edges are not available, except at Bend No. 14 which is very crucial. I would recommend to use local cabs which are available for hire at the foothill because the drivers are very experienced for driving in this particular hilly roads. Do not use your own four wheeler as it can be very risky if you or your driver is not experienced.
