Winter is the best season to visit this zoo. The anti-polythene movement is especially impressive. Beware of monkeys snatching food if teased/prodded. The new decor and signs, the well maintained parks and enclosures present the animals well. They have safari bus as well as golf carts for the general areas ( if you don't fancy walking) the Reptile enclosure is a special attraction, so is the avian area. The zoo boasts of a productive tiger breeding program, white , royal Bengali and even weirdly patterned black tiger.

Though local internal transport facility is available, but is not recommended as it will spoil your experience. Boating facility is available on payment basis in local pond.
