It's a perfect destination for a familyday out! πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ This zoo offers a wide variety of animals, including white tigers, lions, elephants, leopards, rhinoceroses, giraffes, zebras, crocodiles, and hippopotamuses and especially for bird lovers, there's an impressive aviary with species like peacocks, parrots, hornbills, emus, ostriches, and many more colorful and exotic birds. This place also eatures a safari, ropeway, and toy train. Its major highlight includes its affordable ticket price, the beautiful natural setting, and the family-friendly environment. It's a big place, so wear comfortable shoes πŸ‘Ÿ and be prepared to walk. Only one negative point - I will not advise paying for Golf carts for visiting the zoo as they were costly and most of the part in zoo has to be covered by walking. Also the wait time for them was too much and literally it wasted our time. Best time to visit is during Winters as Summers are harsh and Monsoon is too humid.

The Zoo is worth visiting as it's one of the best and most well-maintained zoos we’ve ever visited. The variety of animals, birds, and reptiles is truly impressive. The zoo is spread over a huge green area, making the whole experience very refreshing and enjoyable. The enclosures are spacious and clean, and the animals looked healthy and well-cared for. There's ample space, shaded areas to rest, and food stalls for snacks and refreshments. Also, the adjoining botanical garden and lake add to the scenic beauty of the place. We enjoyed the botanical garden and boating in the nearby lake.

Other Details: Nandankanan Zoological Park is a 437-hectare (1,080-acre) zoo and botanical garden located in Barang village, Odisha, India. It is 10 km south of Cuttack and 10 km north of Bhubaneswar. It also contains a botanical garden and part of it has been declared a sanctuary. Nandankanan, literally meaning The Garden of Heaven, is located in the environs of the Chandaka forest, and includes the 134-acre (54 ha) Kanjia lake.

Nandankanan is the first zoo in the World to breed White tiger and Melanistic tiger. Nandankanan is the only conservation breeding centre of Indian Pangolins in the world and the only zoological park in India to become an institutional member of World Association of Zoos and...

Beautiful place for experience safari lifestyle with family and also weekends

Biodiversity: The park houses a diverse range of animals, including white tigers, Asiatic lions, elephants, reptiles, and a variety of bird species. Safari Experiences: Nandankanan offers several safari options, including a white tiger safari, lion safari, and herbivore safari, providing a unique and closer view of the animals in a more natural habitat. Botanical Garden: Adjacent to the zoo is a beautiful botanical garden, adding to the overall experience with its rich collection of flora. Conservation Efforts: The zoo is involved in various conservation and breeding programs, notably for the endangered gharial and white tiger. Well-Maintained: The zoo is generally well-maintained with good pathways, signages, and resting spots for visitors. Educational Value: There are informative boards and guides available to educate visitors about the different species and conservation efforts. Cons: Crowds: Like many popular tourist spots, it can get quite crowded, especially during weekends and holidays. Distance and Transport: The park is a bit outside the main city, which might require arranging transport, although it is well-connected by local buses and taxis. Food and Beverage Options: While there are some options available inside the park, they might be limited, and it’s advisable to carry your own snacks and water. Weather: Being an outdoor park, the experience can be affected by weather conditions, so it's best to visit during the cooler months or early in the day. Tips: Early Visit: Arrive early to avoid the crowd and have a more relaxed experience. Comfortable Attire: Wear comfortable walking shoes and carry sun protection like hats and sunscreen. Guided Tour: Opt for guided tours or safaris to get more insightful information about the animals and the park. Pack Essentials: Carry essentials like water, snacks, and a camera to capture the beautiful moments. Overall, Nandankanan Zoological Park offers a wonderful opportunity to see a wide variety of animals in a well-kept environment, making it a great destination for families, nature lovers, and...

Nandan Kanan has been a place where I have visited multiple times from my childhood with great memories. However, this time it was a nightmare. The park added a point to point battery operated vehicles for ease of use which thanks to the excellent mismanagement and lack of planning becomes the biggest pain. Firstly the planning is poor as pickup and drop points are different and there is no option for skipping any point. And to add to that there is a nexus of guides who controls the vehicle traffic and bypasses the lines. There is barely any check for tickets in the paid service after the initial starting point and the locals are abusing the system to the best extent by using a paid service for free. Every time there is a mention of Bengal for any nexus or syndicate, well Odisha is very quickly catching up at least, the Nandan kanan park shows that. There is very little apathy for any senior citizens or medical conditions. Also with plastic ban, and bottles or food not being allowed , one cannot bring those in. Also there is no place where water bottles are sold. While most are flaunting rules, people who follow are the ones who face the harrassment.

With this experience, I am under no circumstance going to go back to that place. Also would put a word of caution to other travellor's. The cons are far to more than pro's . It is not that better than a...

The Nandankanan Zoological Park is a true gem for nature lovers and animal enthusiasts. I recently had the opportunity to visit this park and was thoroughly impressed by the level of care and attention that the staff provides to the animals. One of the highlights of my visit was the white tiger exhibit. These magnificent creatures were allowed to roam freely in their spacious enclosures and it was a truly breathtaking experience to see them up close. The park has also done an excellent job in creating natural habitats for each species, which not only helps the animals feel at home, but also provides visitors with an educational experience. Another standout feature of the Nandankanan Zoological Park is the educational programming offered to visitors. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate about the animals they care for and they do an excellent job in communicating this information to visitors. From interactive displays to live demonstrations, there is plenty of opportunity to learn and be entertained. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the Nandankanan Zoological Park. It is a well-maintained and beautifully landscaped facility that offers a unique and unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages. Whether you are a seasoned animal enthusiast or a nature lover, you are sure to have a great time here!
