It's a perfect destination for a familyday out! π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ This zoo offers a wide variety of animals, including white tigers, lions, elephants, leopards, rhinoceroses, giraffes, zebras, crocodiles, and hippopotamuses and especially for bird lovers, there's an impressive aviary with species like peacocks, parrots, hornbills, emus, ostriches, and many more colorful and exotic birds. This place also eatures a safari, ropeway, and toy train. Its major highlight includes its affordable ticket price, the beautiful natural setting, and the family-friendly environment. It's a big place, so wear comfortable shoes π and be prepared to walk. Only one negative point - I will not advise paying for Golf carts for visiting the zoo as they were costly and most of the part in zoo has to be covered by walking. Also the wait time for them was too much and literally it wasted our time. Best time to visit is during Winters as Summers are harsh and Monsoon is too humid.
The Zoo is worth visiting as it's one of the best and most well-maintained zoos weβve ever visited. The variety of animals, birds, and reptiles is truly impressive. The zoo is spread over a huge green area, making the whole experience very refreshing and enjoyable. The enclosures are spacious and clean, and the animals looked healthy and well-cared for. There's ample space, shaded areas to rest, and food stalls for snacks and refreshments. Also, the adjoining botanical garden and lake add to the scenic beauty of the place. We enjoyed the botanical garden and boating in the nearby lake.

Β Β Β Read moreNandan Kanan has been a place where I have visited multiple times from my childhood with great memories. However, this time it was a nightmare. The park added a point to point battery operated vehicles for ease of use which thanks to the excellent mismanagement and lack of planning becomes the biggest pain. Firstly the planning is poor as pickup and drop points are different and there is no option for skipping any point. And to add to that there is a nexus of guides who controls the vehicle traffic and bypasses the lines. There is barely any check for tickets in the paid service after the initial starting point and the locals are abusing the system to the best extent by using a paid service for free. Every time there is a mention of Bengal for any nexus or syndicate, well Odisha is very quickly catching up at least, the Nandan kanan park shows that. There is very little apathy for any senior citizens or medical conditions. Also with plastic ban, and bottles or food not being allowed , one cannot bring those in. Also there is no place where water bottles are sold. While most are flaunting rules, people who follow are the ones who face the harrassment.
With this experience, I am under no circumstance going to go back to that place. Also would put a word of caution to other travellor's. The cons are far to more than pro's . It is not that better than a...
