Feel free to add this place to your list of 'Must Visit Places in Pune'. And if you are a photography-videography lover then definitely do it. This is a display of a large variety of cameras and camera accessories.  This museum is the culmination of Mr Farid Shaikh's 75 years of hard work. Mr. Farid has loaded this exhibition in 5 rooms on the second floor of his own house. The cameras older than 200 years are available to see. Cameras which were used during world war I and II can be seen here. Cameras ranging from old fashioned instant photo polaride camera to latest 360° cameras and spy cameras are displayed. Camera lenses, enlargers, projectors of varies brands can be seen here. I was amazed to see such a huge collection. Moreover, Mr Farid sir, the 'Young' man of 90 year of age was very enthusiastically telling the details about his collection. Entry Fees: Nil Appointment required for visiting. We have to call and take appointment before visit. Parking: No private parking. Park your vehicle at roadside. Accessibility: Not accessible for wheelchair. Museum is located on second floor. There is no lift. Photography: Not allowed. I took special permission for taking few photos.

Awesome experience at Farids Camera Museum. A Gentleman having experience of around century of photography and all the things micro or macro related to camera and its accessories. Collection of more than 3500 cameras at his museum from the first camera to the latest camera of this era. He also has the camera on which first Film Raja harishchandra was made. Must visit to see the history of cameras and how the revolution in photographery came gradually from photo film to digital photos. You have to take the appointment before visiting there. Very rare and unique collection of camera,I recommend to must visit there at least once. Mr Farid is really a kind and great Man ,and so his grandsons Mr Salman and Mr shahnawaz, they had given us their precious time to make understand the history and working of different...
