Locally known as Purana Qila or Old Fort, it is a grand structure which now lies in ruins due to the poor maintenance. The fort stands on a large piece of land now encroached from all sides and has turned in to a garbage dump. Purana Qila also called the Lodhi Fort is a 500 years old fort built by Sikander Lodhi who belonged to the famous Lodhi dynasty of kings. Incidentally Ludhiana (Lodhiana) derives it's name from Lodhi dynasty. However this fort is in a neglected n dilapidated condition surrounded by encroachments it is more of a rubble mound. Majority of the structure has already been destroyed n very little is left now to preserve n protect. There is an ITI functioning inside the premises out of a relatively new building.
