During our visit to Mount Abu Rajasthan which is the only hill station of Rajasthan we could come to know about this ancient Achalgarh Fort located about 10 kms away from Dilwara temples. And hardly we took 20 minutes to reach there.

Achalgarh Fort is situated in Rajasthan on the only Hill Station Mount Abu about 12 kms away from Mount Abu. It was an ancient fort during the reign of Parmara dynasty. Achaleshwar Mahadev ancient Lord Shiva Temple is a lively place of worship and devotees are coming from every corner. Hundreds of colorful shops for the Worship rituals like Coconut etc are arranged to attract the devotees. Many restaurants for refreshments are also available. Achleshwar Mahadev is a Shiva temple and ít is considered a Miraculous temple controlling the volcanic activities in the region. As a deep hole I saw and priest explained about the importance of this temple. Main sanctum is having many Sculpture of Shiva and Parvati and the principal diety. Before main entrance Nandi facing to the main sanctum and the door frame of entrance to the hall is carved with the Sculptures of Gods and Goddesses. A dome above the hall whose ceiling is quite decorated and sand stone is used in whole construction. This is the only temple where consecration to the Lord Shiva is done by offering the Sacred Bael leafs in the worship throughout the year. Except this temple there is an other temple which was dedicated to Lord Shiva close to the parking and lake it's an ancient temple and main sanctum is emptied and it's not active. This is also quite magnificent as carvings of Sculptures of Natraj and other religious motifs are carved on the exterior walls of the sanctum and inside the hall on pillars door frame etc are adorning the era. There are many ruined temples and a lake which is having the black giant size statue of buffalo and many Rishis they were doing meditation, now it's almost dried and famous for some Jain temples.

It's considered a holy place and Shiva temple is quite sacred so devotees and tourists are always visiting. It attracts history buffs wanderers soulseekers art and architecture lovers. It needs an hour to complete the visit of Ancient Achalgarh Fort. Dilwara and the Sunset point situated in the Wildlife are nearest major...
